Post subject:  What Are The Biggest Problems with PUA Methods/Community?

I used to read a lot of stuff on PUA and how to get girls because I wasn't good at it for a long time. Now I have a very loving and beautiful girlfriend I have been with over a year. (A certain type of PUA stuff helped with this).

I learned a lot from the PUA community, but noticed it has some noticeable weaknesses and areas that could be improved upon.

1) All the resources focused on getting sex, not very much on getting girlfriend/getting married.

2) People wear themselves out to get successful using very specific techniques, when in reality their are just a few simple underlying principles that govern all of this.

3) Some of the material says that it encourages you to become a real man, but at the same time very superficial.

4) PUA culture seems to have an very twisted values system, where success in life is equated to success at getting same night lays and what not.

Again, some PUA products (one in particular) was extremely helpful for my love life and I didn't have lasting luck with anything else.

But I was wondering what you guys thought were some of the flaws of the PUA methods and community, or things that were really lacking in it??? Because I noticed it seemed to be heavily flawed in some respects, but helpful in others perhaps.

Thanks so much!

Pickup is just a form of male self-improvement based on leaving women better off than you found them. There is nothing negative about that. You can apply the principles of pickup to your own personal goals, whatever they may be. For some guys it's getting laid. For others it is meeting women so they can eventually find the right girl to marry.

The only thing that is even remotely close to lacking is the fact that seduction techniques are often focused on more than personal development practices. But again, this is PICK UP, not self-help. Naturally, more discussion will be on how to attract women and get them in bed, rather than emphasis on going back to school, working on your career, and developing healthy lifestyle habits. When I see people speaking bad about pickup it is because they have focused in on the wrong aspects of it, they misunderstand it, or they simply dislike it.
