Post subject:  Coffee date ?

Hello everyone, i am going on a "coffee date" tomorrow in the afternoon with a woman i used to work with, i have never been on one before, so i was wondering what is the best thing for me to do. I used to work with the lady but we don't know a great deal about each other.
How is the best way to DHV on this first date scenario ?
Any suggestions would be cool

I don't drink coffee, so I'd never go on a coffee date, but I also hear that's a bad place to go on a date for anyone, despite tons of guys doing it all the time. The reason it's bad is because it's so lame and mundane. It's not even a date at all, it's just sitting there talking while slurping a drink. Might as well be on the phone doing it. I realize that part isn't very helpful to you, but I had to mention it.

You can DHV by finding something more interesting close by and asking her if she wants to take off from the coffee joint and go do that for a while. That will automatically make the date more involved and more interesting. The problem with the coffee thing is you sit there and small talk and then the conversation gets really boring and you start DLVing yourself even if you aren't trying to.

Other than that I would just recommend being upbeat and energetic and make it seem like you have a lot going on in your life that you are excited about. Tell her DHV stories, but obviously you'll have to construct those on your own.

I think coffee dates are fine for the first date, but only if you really do not know each other at all. This is a great way to build comfort with her because there's very little pressure. I believe you have a much greater chance of getting her to meet up with you if it's something like that, as opposed to going to a bar and getting drinks. Unless of course, you met her at a bar to begin with. I don't know, it's circumstantial. I just don't think there's anything wrong with it.

I don't agree with puaninja. I've always taken my first dates on coffee where I build the attraction. If I'm the loudest in the place, and her laughing the most, I know I'm on a role. But I don't stay there for longer than an hour or two. The moment I feel like the conversation might fizzle I tell her to follow me to another place where I'll work up the DiCarlo Escalation Ladder (for a walk or just at a bar/pub/lounge). I have a high success rate of k-closing and sometimes more using my routine.

Coffee dates are awesome.

They give you the opportunity to do the most important thing in PU: Connect with the woman.

Don't even think about DHV:ing yourself because it is completely irrelevant in seduction. The only thing that matters is creating a connection with the woman. This is achieved by being flirty, playful and managing to create that 'you and me against the world' bubble between the two of you.

Talk, have fun and keep it flirty/playful. This is your first date, no need to put much more pressure on it. You are just having a good time with a woman.

During the interaction, you will feel the vibe and be able to act accordingly. This could lead you into setting up a Day 3 with her, kiss her, or even take her home right away. All depends on the situation. Point is to have a good time with another human being and vibe.

Cheers for the advice, it was actually her who asked me out and suggested it. There is some christmas market nearby that has a lot of things going on, so il move on wards to that. And I suppose keeping upbeat and energetic is a must.
its been a while since I've been on a date, let alone a "Coffee" one
