| Post subject: | 2nd Date, but Recovering from Food Poisoning... |
Hi, Last Sunday I had a 1st date which went pretty well. We met for a casual browse of an exhibition, but went on for dinner and the pub after that, until closing time. She texted me on Monday, saying 'had fun yesterday, let's meet on Thurs or Fri'. I booked a table for Friday at a good restaurant. On Tuesday I went down with food poisoning... It's identical to the bug 2 of my friends got at the same place a while back...(yeah, I didn't take their advice - the food tastes good...). This bug takes 7-14 days for complete recovery - it's nasty. You eat, an hour later you're doing a Usain Bolt to the bathroom... I've been on toast all week.. So, I cancelled Friday with her and she suggested Sunday dinner, i.e. 24 hrs from now... At the same, Michelin-star restaurant (rich food...). I'm 80-90% better, but still don't like going far from a bathrooom... It's a fact that I won't be 100% tomorrow, and she's the coolest girl I've dated for a while (cultured, good job, cute). If I cancel tomorrow I'm concerned she'll think I'm playing games. One idea is to rearrange for next Friday right then and there. I think this option may be best. I may be ok for tomorrow, but it'll be embarrassing if I have to keep running to the bathroom... My friends didn't go out for 2 weeks when they got this bug. I'm just curious as to whether anyone here risks a hot date when they're not 100%? What would you do? Cheers! |

Just be honest with her, dont get graphic, no need for that, just tell her your mates (I assume you live with people) have a bug and you caught it, you feel like crap, even make a joke about how you need a nurse to come over and take care of you and you can get cute and say, I promise I wont cheat on the thermometer and skip school. If you live alone, then just say your friends have it, they come over to your place a lot cause your that guy, (the friend everyone goes to) big social value right there, and you caught it again... same story. Then you can get serious and be like I really want to go but sadly can not, damn virus ruining my mojo, how about we just reschedule for XXX I think I ill be able to muster up some strength to see you, if not then Ill just overdose on morphine and force myself out of bed I promise xP |

I agree, thanks. She already knows how I got it etc. The only thing that concerns me is cancelling 2 dates in a row... Some girls would call that a serious black mark... If you've only had 1 date, even though it was a whole day, it's not like she knows me that well. I'm interested in whether some of the guys here, like a dedicated actor who takes to the stage to perform, whilst puking in the wings away from the audience, would go on a date and just put the whole sickness thing to the back of their mind... If you have to run to the bathroom, do so, forget about it. Man up, as it were. Anyway - I'm just thinking how to phrase the whole nurse thing...don't want to sound too kinky |
