Post subject:  Interpret this girl's behavior

Caught several seconds of uninterrupted eye contact with an HB9 at a bar, so my friend and I approached her and her friend, talked for about 15 minutes. The girl seemed very interested but her friend very turned off by the fact that we were four years younger than them. When they had to leave I got her phone number, texted her, she responded later that night with an enthusiastic text.

The day after I call her and invite her to a restaurant but she was busy, she did suggest we go to an art festival the day after (Saturday) however. No call/text on Saturday, so I wait until Sunday and tell her to join me and my friends for a drink at this festival. No response. Her friend, who I think might have talked her out of meeting me, was visiting from out of town and should have left on Sunday.

What's the best course of action with this girl--will trying to initiate something this weekend (one week after I met her) seem too needy?

What you're getting is a flake. In this case I think this interaction is dead but read the following for the future. The reason flakes happen is because is because from the start you play it safe with a girl. You try to win her attention, you hide things about yourself and most important you don't set boundaries for yourself. Setting boundaries means you know what you want and you don't compromise on your principles so for example. If a girl says she want's to go on a date to some kind of museum which you personally hate, you have to tell her " I don't like this kind of museum, let's do something else like this and this". When a girl sees you don't tolerate being pushed around by her and have your own standards she respects you and therefore would respond to you swiftly and she wouldn't flake. Good luck!

Her reason for going was to go to a beer garden at the festival, so by accepting that I don't think I gave her the impression I was compromising my boundaries just for her (by participating in something I wouldn't enjoy, like museums/art).

I do see what you're saying though, thanks for the advice.

Not too needy at all. Keep asking her out. If she says no, keep it moving. She's missing out.

In addition to Arts advice: Remember to win a girls friends over. If you can befriend the girl or guy she is with, she will feel much more comfortable with you. If you feel that there is an obstacle in your way (be it another guy or a cockblock), it is your job to take care of it.

Better luck next time!
