Hi I am wondering if you are talking to a girl, do you have to be positive at all times? or can you give negative news? for example, I was on the street the other day and this girl had a camera and I asked her "are you making a movie?" she says "no, I am doing interviews for my journalism class" I said "the people in this area are not very nice, you are not going to find anybody" is that bad? I never thought my words would be taken so seriously. after our conversation, I walked away, then looked back, and she was gone! anyway, is it bad to give bad news? next time, should I just say "oh that's great!" |

Sure just so long as you don't ruminate on the negative. Think if you were to go out with somebody and they dwelt on the negative. After a short time you'd stop hanging out with them due to associating them with a negative experience/vibe.

I would have given that a twist to make it more funny, something like "cool, but if you see a white van and the guy asks you if you want candy... what ever you do don't say yes... i fell for that trick already, bad idea, just an FYI..." then if your curious ask her what shes interviewing people about. Your comment just came of as negative, almost like anti-talking to people. Best to stay away from negative comments, it just gives off a bad vibe. |
