Post subject:  University social life frustration

So I'm 18 and have been at an all-boys school since 12 so have had VERY limited interaction with girls. I am now at uni and I can't help feeling so frustrated as I cannot seem to 'win' women over in a romantic way. Basically, I want to be able to meet women for the first time and hold their attention, and then close. A few timesI have managed to get over the fear of approaching and used an opener from 'The Game' etc, but girls' responses have seemed unenthusiastic and whilst I maintain the conversation, I feel as if she is bored and I then shortly excuse myself form the conversation out of embarassment. This pattern of bored responses from girls means that my confidence is in tatters and now I feel as if I can't be bothered to talk to new girls as it will inevitably end in a form of rejection. Basically I need help and advice from guys that know how to keep a girl entertained and to survive rejection.

Please help, it isn't fun SPAM.

You're using lines that are canned and you yourself are not into the conversation so the chick won't be.

If you recognize a chick from class, open her up using that class. "Oh hey, you're in my Psych class with (Prof name)?" "response" "Yeah, such a boring class!/Man, I love the prof/etc."

If you're at a party find a chick and get her to be your drinking buddy, your beer pong partner, your funnel partner, your shot partner, anything! Hell, bring a bottle of vodka and pour some shots for people.

If you're ordering food from the cafe or something and there's a chick near you, open her up asking what you should buy, how expensive the food is, etc. etc.

Situational openers and work from there. Canned material will only get you so far.

canned materials are lame

Go direct, like "Hey you're freaking cute." "Who are you?"

If you are the nervous type that does not think well "in the moment" then you should have scripted material. In fact, a you should absolutely always have a plan.

Really it sounds like you're approaches are half hearted. You need to just jump in without a doubt, or make it appear like you have no doubts. Your emotional state rubs off on other, well the emotions you convey.

YOu're afraid to fail but you have to be willing to fail to succeed. You gotta ram through that convo full speed ahead and its either fly or fall on your face. There is no in between.

A word about rejection. Rejection is all about your attitude. Mind over matter. Positive thinking. How you think of it after wards will greatly affect how you feel about it. Attutde. You're still a good dude no matter what.

welcome to pick up! What these guys and other guys who will invariably post on this post are talking about is called your Frame. Its your emotional, mental and sexual state of mind and being. The canned material you are using could be great or it could be poo, just depends! yeah you might be saying the right words but thats not the big issue. 70% of communication is done through body language, 20% through tonality and 10% are the words you are actually saying. Humans are extremely interconnected, people will litterally adopt whatever frame your in as long as its strong enough. If your sad, their sad. If your excited, their excited. If your horny, your target is horny!

Basically its not what your saying its HOW YOUR SAYING IT.

You're just not that good at opening sets and running routines yet. Most guys have this problem. Continue doing it and learn through trial and error. Also, work on developing yourself and making YOU a better man. This has nothing to do with the sets you open. This is all about what you do in your free time and how you train your mind.
