hi

what do you do when you compliment a girl, and she kind of ...I dont know the right word....so I am going to say "humiliates" you by saying something harsh? for example,
I said "I like the way you are dressed"
she said "why?"
I said "because it looks nice"
she said "I am ALWAYS dressed nice"

what do I say? it's kind of humiliating to compliment and then hear that. I didn't mean she is dressed ugly other times, you know?

how do you respond to that? I am not looking for something clever to say, I am just wondering how to react, as far as my demeanor, my body language, goes?

Compliment her on her beautiful eyes, then tease her about that her other clothes don't really match her eye colour ;)

again, i am not trying to come up with something clever to say. It is not my goal to sound interesting. I am just wondering what my reaction should be as far as demeanor, body language. I just feel like an idiot when this happens, wondering how to handle it.

Always be non-reactive... In terms of body language, just maintain a confident frame, don't slump down or express shock, or anger. If you want to use a clever line, that's fine but the main points should be don't back down or be apologetic. I would simply be non-reactive or smile coyly and transition the conversation to something else. Hope this helps.

It also depends on the context of the situation i.e. Is this girl trying to be rude or just playfully teasing? If she's trying to be rude the above reaction is what I would use all the time. If she's just trying to be playful, I would still use the above reaction, if I couldn't come up with anything witty on the spot.

Okay, first thing first, don't give a compliment unless you think your gonna recieve positive feedback, back. Its a waste of time thinking a compliment is gonna do much work unless she is showing some interest back.
Next, if she shows negative feedback to the compliment, I would just act unfazed and change the topic. You can recover from it, but not if you sit there and get hurt and affected.
I usual don't put up with chicks that give me that kind of attitude
