Post subject:  College Nightlife Conversational Skills Help

These past few nights I've been to bars, clubs and parties. I've had some success talking with girls I guess but I really want to improve.

I don't have AA and I believe initially HB's are interested because of my looks. However I usually run out of interesting things to say or I'll say something awkward. I'm thinking of reading "How To Win Friends And Influence People". Any thoughts on this or other suggestions? I mean what are good conversational topics to use in college at bars, clubs and/or parties.

Also another problem I've been having is escalation. I've managed to keep the girl interested sometimes and she's showing all sorts of IOI. What should be my next move?

A good conversational technique is to kind of go back and forth connecting the everyday to the deep. So you can just ask her a sort of basic question like "So what did you do today?" The purpose for you is to fish for hooks you can then go deeper with to create a connection. Whatever she says, try to pick something you can then connect with. Keep asking these surface questions until you get a hook.

Then take the hook and tell stories about how that relates to you. In the stories you have a chance to throw in DHV's, as well. When you create multiple hooks and build on them, that's where connection can come from.

As for escalation, just keep in mind a series of more and more intimate areas you can touch. Make sure starting early on in the connection to go through the series. If she ever seems uncomfortable, just back up to the previous one.

So keep the connection building chat and the escalation happening together in parallel.
