I just realized that outside of my family no one calls me by my first name unless its a girl and all my guy friends call me by my last name do you guys have that kind of thing going on or have you worked up to a nickname? |

Why does this matter? It has nothing to do with social status or anything like that. |

I'm in a similar situation. I've found that all my close friends, including the females, call me by my last name. While in High School and Undergrad, girls called me by name in person (unless they were close friends). Grad school and post grad school I noticed that everyone calls me by my last name. I've even started introducing myself by last name because it's interesting and girls usually ask about it. Opens up quite a few opportunities. |

Its not that big of a deal. Its like saying "some people call of white and some call me caucasian" its just another way of calling you do you instantly change based on what they say? |
