Post subject:  I have an awesome car, should I use it?

I have a new high end red convertible coupe, and a 10 year old luxury car. I bought the car because I love driving, not to show off. I don't generally mention it to anyone, and haven't used it when sarging. I'm debating which car I should take when I drive places.

Possible Disadvantages:
- Could act as a crutch hindering my development
- Sets spending expectations I won't meet
- Could be a turn off for some of the types of HBs I'm interested in

Advantages:
- Its fun to drive
- Looks beautiful
- Gets some attention
- Possible DHV?

One thing is that the car makes it look like I spend big, when I actually just manage what little money I have fairly well or fairly poorly depending on how you look at it. :-) Furthermore, I could put up some fun pictures on facebook or online dating sites but so far I've wanted to avoid the types of people it would draw and attract the types it would drive away. I guess on the dating sites I could just set up two profiles but that would be a bit more complicate to manage on facebook.

This isn't just for the poll, I would appreciate any thoughtful advice you can give.

In a picture application, use it in the back ground, not as the center.

Doing something fun NEAR the car, and not as your main photo.

A car is a car.

Yes girls would love to be driven around in a nice car. They like the roar of the engine and the status that is would show. However, to use this in game is very hard to use. To be humble about it is best. For example, your talking to a girl and building rapport, you can work in to the conversation that you have a nice car by asking her a question about traveling or about something related to cars. Example: to girl.."if you were to go on a road trip what would be the car you would love to be driving in?" she says "blah blah blah" and you respond with "Mhmm, that sounds like it would be a okay car to drive but driving a (your cool car name here) would be a much better experience." If your car is a well known type of car, she would know it, and she would be like "yeah that would be a experience" and with this you could set a future factious date that you two will go on a road trip. there are a few ways to use it.

Please tell me how you think you could use it in a set?

I have a '63 Chevrolet Nova SS Soft top convertible. I dont need to build up how cool the car is, the car does it itself.

Your right that the car doesn't do anything special, it is still a car. However, it probably modifies people's perceptions.

This seems like a pretty good suggestion, if I'm going to have any pictures with it present.

Yet its not depending on the car. Girl sees you in say a Ford Focus and goes meh, Girl sees you in say a BMW and you probably have her attention somewhat. Not that she may or may not be a gold digger or materialistic, but girls do judge guys based upon their cars as far as income level goes. Granted this is not always a good indication of ones income, it is never less a first impression.

A car could have a couple of twisted rubber bands under the hood, and MOST women would not know the difference! It's ...the LOOK....the PRICE TAG...and the NAME PLATE! That is what will get you a front seat hand job from a young lady you hardly know!

True Story!

Talking about the car sends off provider vibes and will most definitely attract gold diggers. Unless you can turn it into some kind of DHV (you fix it up yourself, that specific car has some deeply personal meaning to you, etc.), then I wouldn't talk about it.

Obviously, if you meet a girl who's REALLY into cars, then feel free to talk about it (but you should be knowledgeable about a lot of cars and have a specific reason why got that one).

Heh, I tend to not take my car when my friends and I go out because of a few reasons...

1. I hate parking my car downtown, it is a big PITA and who knows what drunk people will do to it.
2. It can only fit 2 people comfortably, the back seat is virtually useless.
3. I don't like to drive when we go out.
4. It is a cop magnet.

I can see how driving a nice car makes things easier, but I see it as a "reward" for the girl who wants to hang out with me without knowing about it.

I've got a new Porsche 911 and I've found it to be a hindrance! The girls that are impressed are not relationship material and it can also put off many girls too!!

I tend to not mention it...

One girl I dated (for 3 months) broke up with me because "I wasn't going anywhere and she wanted financial security"! I'd been picking her up in a clapped out Audi A3 the whole time lol! When I picked up my stuff from her house I did it in the Porsche!

She asked why I never told her about it and I just said that she never asked about my background! Not once!!

This is what I want to avoid, I'll probably just pretend it doesn't exist until it comes up or is asked about.

That's what I do! Though even when a girl asks me what I drive I can still get called a show off but I learnt to treat it as a shit test!

No, she actually got a bit defensive and tried to say that no wonder she broke up with me if I was holding stuff from her.

I said that she never asked about my background and declined (many times) to come to my place or meet my family! Meeting them would of shown her everything.

I told her it's a way for me to test if a girl is motivated by money and she failed the test!

I've not heard from her since lol

Hahaahahhhha thats just plain awesome :D

Anyways, i think that car is not a factor if you are looking for someone serious. One night lays may be easy with some type of girls :"hey lets go check my new ferrari"

Anyways every girl i spend a little more time with, never ever mentioned car being a problem. But its true that i love my small city car so i can give tons of pros for it. Althow it is fun when i take them around in more business class second car. But i do it in the way : "hey lets go on a coffee and a circle with my other car" but still, i do it because she enjoys spending time with me, not with me in my car.

Point is, girls should be addicted to you and your personality, not your stuff. You make youself unique, while its easy for some other guy to come along in newer model of the car and drives her home.
