| Post subject: | First approach ever. |
Hey Guys I am 24 above average looking and just out of a long term relationship with a girl I met online. Just did my first approach ever with a girl I kind of know from a martial arts gym. Anyways, talked a little before the hour long class began made her smile a few times ... I was nervous as fuck, fidgeted a little ... eye contact wasnt great... but I felt this vibe from her that she was a little nervous herself but still into me. We locked eyes a couple of times during class also. So the class ended and I just called her over and asked her if she would like to go for a coffee sometime. She looked anyway did a nervous laugh/smile... then I said "no?, its cool..." and she mumbled something that didnt really make sense something like "your just a new guy in gym". I began to walk away and said "ok let me know if you change your mind." while smiling. I went to class a couple of days later and she wouldnt look in my general direction and I didnt really want to look in her direction either ! (didnt want to give her the impression I was a creep/stalker/obsessed with her) And that is pretty much it. I am glad I did the approach and planning on approaching a couple of complete strangers tomorrow ... but I dont want things to be awkward between us as we will be seeing allot of each other... whats the best way to handle this ? Also any general advice appreciated |

Good for you on the approach! It's her that is making things awkward, not you. Therefore, it's not your responsibility to "fix" anything. You didn't say anything that should have created any awkwardness between the two of you. Also, "you're just a new guy in gym" makes no sense to me. Any idea what she meant by that or are just as lost on that as I am? Overall, she sounds kind of like a weirdo. Just let it go and find someone else. Once again, be proud that you had the balls to make the approach. |

Thanks man My mission today wasnt that successful. I couldnt get the nerve to just run up to a girl and give her a compliment ! It turned into a scouting mission... I just focused on my body language, eye contact, being friendly to the cashiers, and my stupid fake grin I had on my face the whole time. I am nearly sure I had about 10 girls checking me out... some looked then looked down and grinned slightly, others stared for over 3 seconds, I even had Hb8 give me a big smile and said "Hey!" I just continued making eye contact and smiled back. I had the opportunity to ask a couple of girls who worked in the clothes shop there opinion on some clothing. I had it in my mind what I wanted to say but it wouldnt come out... I have to not beat myself up about these mediocre results as if I didnt make the decision to change who am I .. to become a better person... I would be been just like the rest of the guys there who were just walking along looking at the floor ! |

Good job, it really wasn't your fault "your new to the gym" is a terrible excuse, if she was professional or a instructor I probly wouldn't go there since they should be friendly no matter what (I instruct at one and you deal with ALL types of people, you can't be mean to any of them or you lose a customer/friend) Just keep practicing, I've had women I've talked to while I'm working out go cold the next day for no apperant reason so youre not alone If your really into the first girl try to slow your pace, nervous girls don't want to be pushed or pressures into dating/ giving her number ect |
