Sorry to post another topic about flakes. We already had one date and it went really well. So a week and a bit after I made plans with her as a surprise. Was gonna go to this local theme park. She seemed keen. Texting me all through the days leading up to it. Saying she's really excited/nervous about where we're gonna go. For me it was going to be great a) becuase I haven't been there in so long and was looking forward to it myself and b) what better place to escalate especially with a firerworks show at the end. I get a text this morning at 7.15am an hour before I'm due to pick her up from the station 'I'm really sorry to do this at such short notice but I feel really unwell. I think I have sun stroke, so sorry' How should I deal with this? Maybe she is really unwell. Kind of strange it's come on now though. I know I shouldn't feel gutted or upset but I really wanted to go to the theme park haha How should I respond. thanks for any advice. EDIT: lol just sent me another text 'I feel like shit. I hope I haven't pissed you off. It;s still quite early maybe we could do something else later. Please don't hate me Maybe it was my surprise and her worrying about what it could be that made her flake? |

Could be legit, maybe not Since its summer a lot of people are getting heat exhaustion and what she said heat stroke which you should go to the hospital for since that's a life-threatening ailment But then there's the fact that the text is at 7:10am, how much sun exposure can you get at that time are you in Mexico? You need more than an hour of sun to get heat stroke. I would probly reply with "if you think you have sun stroke you should get to a hospital(which is true)" either she'll come up with "oh nvm I feel great but am still Gunna flake on you" or "really? I guess I'll go to one now" |

Thanks man. She said she was sunbathing the previous day. But I thought you normally get sun stroke that same night not the next day when you wake up and 'allegedly' walk half way to the train station before getting it. I mentioned the hospital thing and she just said she's not going to hospital as they'll laugh at her for having a headache and tummy ache. She seems to be playing it down where as this morning she was making it sound a lot more serious. She might be telling the truth though like you say. It annoys me girls always flake at last minute. If you're gonna flake I won't mind as much if it's the day before not when I'm about to walk out the door. I gave her plenty of oppurtunities to flake last night. She just mentioned she will have a sleep and hopefully be better later so we can go for ice cream. So maybe she does have intention to see me again. But it makes me wonder if she was just flaking this morning because the whole 'surprise element' was too much and she got nervous |

There is no way to know for sure. The only thing you should do is not getting stressed over it, just take it as it is and tell her next time then. Normally if the girls keep flaking, I would move on by my 3rd invites. |

Sunstroke? Nah, she just doesn't have enough comfort with you to tell you she started her period. |

Good advice. I may be off, but my reading of her replies seem genuinely apologetic. That being said, she could just feel really bad about her heat stroke because she got it while banging some other guy at the theme park she was going to go with you the next day! But err on the side of simple misunderstanding or that she's telling the truth. Not every time something comes up in a girl's life is she trying to play you. But if this becomes a habit, then even if these excuses are valid, she doesn't respect you.

Best reply you can send is something between the lines that this is no big deal, but you dont like getting flaked on/ you are not that kind of guy. So basically: "no prob, we can do this later. You`re still going to compensate to me." If she never does anything else to get the two of you together again, it`s a NEXT moment. |

Thanks for all the replies. Cheers for the advice. I replied with a care free attitude and left it at that. It's funny. I've been in the middle of nowhere all day enjoying my day without her and no signal on my phone. Get back home 2 texts from her trying to rearrange something. I've set something up for Friday but if truth be told she's killed the vibe and it doesn't feel the same as it did. can't be arsed anymore. Haven't dealt with flakes for a while but this has reminded me of what it used to be like and as much as I shouldn't let it bother me it used to piss me off. It got to the point before where I'd tell them 'Sorry you lost your chance, see you around. On second thoughts I prob won't' Was gonna pay her entry to the theme park. She can work for that shit now and pay herself thanks again for the adivce all |
