Post subject:  Moving to new country. Strategies to meet women ?

Hi guys,

I'm on late twenties and in order to change my life I'm sending lots of CV's right now and I have already offers in order to move to a new country where I kinda want to start a new life, hopefully with lots of women in it (0 woman till now in my life..). I've decided that I need to grow up as a person and have more life experience, and I really need this move. I'm short, not very good looking and I'm still very shy. Social rejection still a big concern for me so I need to move to a new place in order to try new things and start having a different lifestyle that the one I have right now.

But I want to go with a strategy to meet women. I dont want to stay there alone, depressed and with no friends.

I work as a software/computer engineer so basically I will not see many girls at work. That means I need a strategy to meet up girls during my free time. I need some advice.

I have some ideas of starting doing stuff that I never did before like for example:

1 - Start going to the gym.

I can have some muscles and gain confidence. However, I dont know if I can meet lots of women there..and being a skinny immigrant there, I will feel ridiculous.

2 - Start having language courses.

I can meet women who are not locals, and maybe dont know many people there, so they are looking also for "friends"..

3 - Start having cooking classes. I can improve my cooking skills, which are basically very limited, so I can turn into a more interesting person, and maybe meet some girls there too.

4 - I saw a website called meetup, where people join a group and then meetup somewhere in the city where they are I guess. However I see lots of old people there and not many girls.. am I wrong?

I see this as a life changing moment for me and I'm going to put 100% effort in this.

I really need some advice. Can you comment my ideas and add some more? Is there any section in this forum with strategies for guys who are moving to a new country?

Cheers
