Post subject:  When she's with her parents...
Ok, so recently I've been at a few events where there have been a lot of cute girls around but most are with their families, or their parents. Sometimes I've managed to chat to girls, but I find it difficult to manage an interaction under these circumstances. It's hard to appeal to a parent and their daughter, and manage to isolate her to take the interaction further.

Anyone got much experience in this, or any tips?

Sorry guys, should have said - I'm just finishing uni and there have been quite a few events with parents lately, where I've met girls I've never seen about campus before.

Just act like they are not there. Unless your much older than them or look like buffalo Bill they shouldnt worry that theres a charming young man talking to thier daughter.

I chatted up a girl a few weeks ago whilst her mum and dad were right there. I introduced myself to them whilst I was talking to her and even bought her mum a drink.

As long as your charming and polite it shouldnt matter.

Ahhh, that's where I've been going wrong :P

Seriously, though I think part of me feels like Shylee does - that I shouldn't be doing it for one reason or another, and I think that's affecting my flow. Generally I don't mind talking to girls who are with their parents but my big problems are these:

(i) Never feel comfortable no. closing.

(ii) Try to impress the parents more than the girl.

(iii) Be too nice so as not to make a bad impression in front of the parents, but then look like a douche to the girl.
