Do I smile when they passes by?

Post subject:  Do I smile when they passes by?
Sometimes when I am approaching my target in a shopping mall, I have approach anxiety... so I kind of just smiles and thought of maybe do an opener if I bump into her again later.

So, my question is, if I smile and just passes by, am I having my value go down? Thanks.

i've only used this line a few times when passing by a girl, but if we make eye contact and smile I say something like

"don't let a friendly smile go to waste. My name is...." works well.

Not at all, smiling is great if it's genuine. but i'm going to add this in, don't always wait to just bump into a target again, because you never know if you're going to run into them again.
