I think this would be useful in a couple of ways.

You could see the tell tale signs.

You could mirror it to them, without coming off like an asshole.

Also ones that have worked for you in the past that YOU have given.

I have experienced when properly delivered, it likely won't save the relationship, BUT could end in a nice "Return to Red Lobster" piece of ass.

Thanks for any input!

sometime in march 2012:

Her: i'm sorry if i've given you any misleading signals. I really like being your friend. if it makes you feel any better i don't see **** in that way at all and i know he doesn't see me that way either. i've only emailed him once this week and that was only to ask if he wanted some hot chocolate. please sit where you like, i dont want to cause any more trouble. i hope we can still be friends.

the following week:

her: yes, you're right. it is dangerous what we're doing. i dont know how to act around you. my head is all over the place. i'm gonna have to decide what to do.

a week later:

her: i can only be your friend. that is all i can offer you.

a week later.

Her: once again i'm sorry if i misled you in any way but i can only be your friend.

2 weeks later:

her: yeah we can be friends.

a week later to present:

neither of us talking.

Nothing of note from personal experience to be honest. Usually just a text saying "I think we should just be friends." I get on with it...

funny story with my friend once though.
About six or so months ago when I were living up north, he was seeing two girls. (One from Huddersfield, the other from Leeds.)

To be honest, he was doing quite well at keeping things discrete etc, seeing them both on a regular. Nothing between the two girls were serious so it were easier for him.

Anyway, he took girl #1 out one night, things were going swimmingly. They went to a local restaurant and took their seats. Believe it or not, girl #2 was at the same restaurant with her family. Girl #2 spotted them obviously, and went over to question him. He attempted to talk his way out of things, but girl #2 said "look, I think it'd be best if we were just friends." He accepted this and turned his intentions back to girl #1, who had already stood up and got her bag, etc... He questioned what she were doing, leading her to say "Yeah... I think we should just be friends too."

At the time I found out, I absolutely pissed myself! Don't know if you guys think the same... but I think it was pretty funny! :P

Haha, loved this :) The 'I think there has been some misunderstanding' line, after having sucked you off. Thats a friend I'd wanna keep! lol

I've had a ton of these through the years, and they all follow the same theme - 'no you its me, 'you're great I'm just not sure I'm ready for anything right now' or some variation on that.

Ha ha ha ha! From the Leeds girls I've met, I'm surprised she was clever enough to realise what was going on

HAHA! Tell me about it! Some women you find up there are just ... terrible.
In some cases, Leeds made Essex look like Oxford!
