So I go to the library today to look for some books about NLP, and what do you know, I see this cute blonde who works at the library. we have eye contact and we smile at each other after which i turn to the shelves to look for the books.

When Im done, I see her not so far from me putting books on the shelves and decide to directly approach her, I say:
"Hi, I know this is a little bit weird, but you just give out this amazing vibe, and I just feel like getting to know you. Can i have your number so I can take you out some time?"

HBblonde: "Yes, you can (smiles and is a bit shy)"

Me: "here you can write you number on my phone. whats your name by the way?"

HBblonde: "blabla"

Then in the evening I texted her saying:
"Hi HB. How about I take you out to dinner next week?"

HBblonde: Hi x. Im really flattered that you want to take me out to dinner!
But I just have to ask, how old are you?

What should I reply?
My theory is, that it's kind of a bitch test..

Im 18 and from my POV she didn't look older than me, I really doubt that she's more than 20 y/o

Text back "Guess :D"

I wouldn't assume it's a test. It can be a completely legitimate question if she is just concerned that you are old enough.

Also I agree with the previous post as to your reply :)

That is a tough one. Honestly I find that I have more success for just saying that i'm 19 than 18 due to factors such as the majority of people I meet are 19/20 due to the university where I live. However if you lie, then further down it can be damaging if you get caught out and starting a possible relationship on a lie is not going to come across well.
Alternatively you could try and be funny and say something along the lines of 'You know it's rude to ask a guy their age'. However i'd probably just tell the truth as it seems she was highly attracted to you in the initial interaction.
It's your call my friend.

Good Luck!

I still say you should try and get her to jump through your hoops by asking her to guess.

Maybe I'm just old, but replying "guess" sounds like something a tween-age girl would say.

Make it a non-issue, because it should be.

Tell her. Be straight up.

There's a MAJOR difference in running game and playing games.

*If anything, I'd just say "I'm legal, but I can't drink, yet"

I think he should try and get compliance in different ways, if he did the 'guess' thing that it would only make his age to be a bigger issue by giving it more conversation time, and getting her to think about it more, as his age is possibly going to have a negative effect I would steer clear of it from my personal experiences. But for sure if age wasn't really an issue in an interaction then i'd totally agree.

Wholeheartedly agree with this!
Age can certainly prove to be a big problem with some women (most usually if you're younger than they are.) I think if you steer away from the potential age gap itself, you'll be okay. If you spend too much time dwelling on it, she'll likely be lead to believe that you yourself feel it is an issue.

Personally, I'd just tell her. "I'm Eighteen." Of course, perhaps add a little more to the text, to again try and steer away from the whole 'age' thing. Maybe ask a question out of topic or something. Await her response, and if she focuses things entirely on your age, then try and work something from there?

Hope this helps.

Easy one.

"How old do you want me to be?"

Watch.

allright guys, i texted that i am 18.

I took wilso's advice, since if I would've texted "guess" and at the end of it she'd find out that I am younger than her, she would see me as even more immature since i couldn't just come straight forward and tell her my age, and instead was "playing games" as RetiredRodeo says.

btw, in my country you can drink from the age of 16 haha :D
- although i dont drink myself

....16 to drink?

And I bet DWI isn't nearly as rampant as it is in the States....

Good luck buddy.
