Lol no you've got this all wrong. Your message to send to her made me cringe. You don't need to say who you are because she probably knows. You don't need to say "this is weird", because by saying that you make it awkward and weird. The saying goes "it's only as weird as you make it".

so i just recently moved out of my parents house and i have my own place. so you no what that means but anyway, today i was at a family bbq and my sister brought her friend over to the bbq. but my question is, how do i send her a message on facebook? what should be my opener? should i say ''hey ''her name'' this is blah blahs brother, this might be weird but what do you think about exchanging numbers and maybe going out for a drink sometime? we never really talked before but she does know who i am. i seen her checking me out''looking up and down at my outfit today when i walked in the door'' but idk. i do want to hook up with her. can you guys give me a step by step opener? after i get the number im fine after that, i just need help with the opener. can you guys realy help me out and help me get the number. edit: i would post pic if you guys let me

1. She will not respond to your message at all - and most probably smack-talk about you with your sister. 2. She will politely turn you down by making excuses or directly saying she is not interested - and also smack-talking about you with your sister. 3. There is no 3. Look, if you've barely talked to her at the bbq, and then directly asked her out over the internet (?) - you will only be portrayed as 'your sister's creepy brother'.

You made a few mistakes its hard to say whether or not you can recover from this because you went out of order. You should of referenced something from the bbq that is witty and funny. You have to get the juices flowing before you make some moves.
