Banter with a cute girl. I can't think of a good comeback, and I'm also not sure how I go from this kind of dynamic to something more sexual etc.

Here's my opinion, you sorta painted yourself in a corner with the first line. You showed her that your only interested in her because she's Cute. To a girl that demonstrates that a DLV, kinda shoes your just another guy trying to hook up with Her.

Try reversing the situation and make her game you, she has to invest in you in order to want you. Thus, the line, "Your a cute girl, but Beauty is common, tell me 3 things about you that would make me want to get to know you better." or "Your a cute girl, but what else do you got going for you besides looks." Those are just BASIC lines.

But once she tells you, don't neg her, if she answers it's a compliance and you can show her that your interested in the same things thus bringing a connection.

If you banter with her the way you are it won't get very far since she already knows your agenda and it's basically up to her now what she wants to do. Change it up bro!

Hopefully you take this constructively.

You're problems were:

-Saying you're giving her a chance because of her looks
-Saying you're giving her a shot then 2 seconds later saying it won't work

I try not to banter on this type of subject tbh, it doesn't get very far.

Reply: In all honesty, with all games aside. I think you are a very solid girl, you seem to be as beautiful on the inside as you do on the outside. Let me show you my inner self. I am confident your view of me will change, in the off chance that it doesn't. You'll still have my respect for looking down the rabbit hole.

A statement like this will slap her into reality. Either way, you're putting it on her in a challenging way. She will have no choice but to respect this comment. If she has any interest in you, you'll see it in her reply.

A lot of guys get fixated on "what to say", and ignore the actual frame of what's going on between the two of you. The whole thread looks like you're chasing her. You need to create more of a "push pull" kind of vibe.

50/50 push/pull only works if she gives you the reaction you want at least some of the time. You want it so that you push and she gets excited, or you pull and she gets disappointed. (If not both.)

Right now, you push and she shuts you down, then you pull and she says she doesn't care. She has all the power in the interaction.

Every girl is different. For a particularly strongheaded girl, you might need to pull a lot more. Less "we're equals dancing around each other" and more "you're my obnoxious little sister". Like "innocent was a nice way of saying you're a brat. I bet you were the girl who used to claim all the toys were hers." (keep it playful / in sync with your type of humor.)

Pink is also right that you might have gotten off on the wrong foot. Shown too much interest, or the wrong kind of interest. You didn't completely screw up as bad as some other dudes though. Just something to keep in mind for next time.
