| Post subject: | Girl that works at gas station/convenient store |
Last night I went to the store to grab something to drink..and while I was walking in, a girl had walked in and held the door for me...I said thanks, and she hurried to the office spot behind the counter...she was the night manager. pretty cute too. But that was the only time I saw her, she went and grabbed her clip board, and continued to the back... Its a real busy store/gas station.....so how would be a good a way to convey to her I want to hang out sometime and get to know her? I was thinking along the lines of the typical "I think you're cute, but would like to see what else you have going on..Lets grab a drink/lunch sometime.." And if she says "I have a boyfriend.." I was thinking of using Fuze's(??) line.."a boyfriend? how long have you had that problem?" lol Just trying to get a head start of possible replies/responses.....but in a fast paced, busy place, such as this gas station...I obviously don't have much time to stand around and converse...so thats why I thought the direct-style would probably be best |

Say you are cute, and she will say "I have a bf". You are telegraphing interest. Just find a way to tell her to hang out with you sometime. Make it sound like its not a date, so she cannot say no. |

When I hear "I have a boyfriend" I generally respond with, "Woah sorry but I don't swing that way. No worries, I won't take him from you". But how you would approach her is really tough. When people are busy at work I stay away from them approach wise. Now, if she was the cashier or something and you got near her something quick, simple, and direct would be good for a number close. I was getting some food at a gas station a week ago and the cashier was cute. As she was ringing me up I opened her. Me-It's the last week in April and it's snowing. You believe this shit? Her-God I know it's awful. The weather has been crazy lately Me-I'm not from around here, is it always like this? Her-No, its been just weird lately Me-Cool. I gotta get to work but your cute, write down your number and I'll get ahold of you for drinks sometime. I love meeting new people. Her-That sounds fun but I'm not 21 yet. Me-In that case I'll bring the crayons and you bring the coloring book She laughed, said "OK" and wrote her number down on my receipt. Haven't contacted her since but the point still remains lol. |

think about where you can appraoch her when its not awkward for her and not awkward for you. Introduce yourself, say somethings that show value and safety. Then bring up talking. get the number then get out. |

I appreciate you sharing that line..I think a while ago I read something similar in a David D newsletter, still your post is very helpful, as it demonstrates good ways to handle the situation...The crayons and coloring book line is classic haha thanks again my dude |

You could try going up to the cashier and say: 'I have a problem, can I speak to that cute manager?' she comes: what's the problem? 'My problem is, you too darn cute to for me to pass you by! I bet you get this a lot, but let me be the hundred and one to ask you out for a drink'. |
