Okay negging is when you make someone feel uncomfortable and then they pursue your affection in order to validate themselves. Example #1: On the Jersey shore, Deena strips for The Situation...obviously showing that she wants his affection. He acts disinterested (these guys on Jersey Shore get girls this way alot). Later on she asks him to cuddle with her and he says no...this just makes her feel further on uncomfortable and want to validate herself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTWaO-j8BFg Example #2 In college on of my friends through a house party and he was just teasing the fuck out of this girl. It was some mean stuff, but the shit was also funny as hell. And I was thinking she must really hate him. I left the house party turns out some people stayed. My boy and the girl stayed. It turns out in the middle of the night when everyone was sleeping she went to him and just started sucking his pecker and then showed him her putty kat and told him to fuck her. He said "No"...it goes without saying that this really made this girl feel unworthy and wanted him even more afterwards... How do you neg? What examples do you have? My sticking point with negging is that you pretty much have to risk being disliked or actually be disliked to attract someone with negs and that feels very uncertain. I like certainty. |

Did the so called 'negging' get him laid do you think (none of that which you said was defined as negging by the way), or the underlying message behind what he was doing? Think about this.Quote:

This term is highly misunderstood and therefore misused in a way that makes people come off as assholes rather than funny. I suggest playful teasing instead. It's so much more effective.Quote:

If you like certainty, go for certainty. You don't have an internalized understanding of the neg to even begin using it - and I frankly don't understand the reasons for why you'd even want to understand it. Skip it and use what's certain to you. You're chasing a ghost.

I will try, because it bugs me sometimes how nobody gets it. Neg is a shortened term for negative complement. Basically, you complement the girl, then say something that jabs at her. For instance "That is a beautiful dress, I saw a girl wearing it last night, too!" This isn't said sarcastically. You sincerely complement her dress in that example. But, as any guy with girl friends knows, a lot of them are irritated to find out that dress they bought at JC Penny wasn't one of a kind. Nothing in it is truly negative, but there's a little bite to the complement. Another one: "you are so cute, it's a shame you're not my type." Again, it is sincere and positive in nature and how you say it, but you add "not my type" to let the girl know that while she's cute, you're not particularly impressed. It's not an insult, it's not sarcasm, it's not teasing. It is something completely different. |

You're better off not knowing what negs are. It's counterproductive to make a girl feel lesser of herself, particularly when you consider the vast majority of women (yes, even the hot ones) having various insecurities. Yea, bring her self-esteem down to make her subservient, sounds like a great way to begin a relationship... |
