WARNING: This thread is extremely "high school" and may induce vomiting.

Alright so I'm gonna be attending college this fall, and I joined a Facebook group for the incoming freshmen. Long story short, two more groups were created by the incoming freshmen in addition to this MAIN group: one for the guys (only 35 members), one for the girls (180 members). Both groups are private and cannot be seen by non-members.

Earlier today, someone from the girl group was bragging in the MAIN group with this post: "Us girls may not be as active in the main group today. We're all busy discussing secret and important information in the girls' group. Sooooooo yeah."

As anyone in this forum knows, this SCREAMS 'girly high school mind games.' So I basically called her out on it, in a joking way by replying to it: "This post is proof that we're all still in high school ROFL." The original poster didn't seem to find this funny because she, along with a ton of other girls from the girls' group, attacked me.

It escalated from there until it got out of control. I kept replying to their hateful comments with sharp, witty comebacks and one of the girls even resorted to personal attacks by calling me a prick. I finally had to private message the original poster to delete the post or I'd contact the group moderator. She did, and followed it up with a post in the girls' private group saying why she deleted it. So they continued hating on me, without me even being able to see it. (I wasn't able to see it until later, when one of my female friends sent me screenshots from the group).

Their comments in the girls' group included things like:

"What a prick, I feel sorry for any girl that dates him."

"I thought he was a chill guy. So wrong."

"He's been like this the whole time! From his first comment I was like... this guy."

and "I don't really like him."

These comments are visible to all the 180 girls in the group. Many are HB 8+

I feel like my reputation has been ruined when I haven't even stepped foot in college yet. I realize now that I shouldn't have stooped to their level by arguing back, but it's too late for that now. And knowing how girls gossip, the word will only spread to more people and get worse. Is there any fixing this, or am I screwed for the next 4 years?

From what I read so far, womans are controlled by emotion.

Emotion> Logic.

Another point is that they cannot control who they like and who they dislike.

Lastly some of those HB might be hypocrite! So yea you got your fame might/might not work your way.

lol why do you even care?

they know who you are now, you can work with that, also you should learn to deal with negative feedback better, don't just tuck your tail and run at the first sign of tension, learn to deal with that shit, let people hate you if they must

So you're all saying that I can work with all this negative attention? My only question is how I'm supposed to create a more positive buzz about myself. Do I lay low for awhile and shut up? Or should I just post more positive/friendly posts in the group?

It'll be hard to ever meet one of those girls if they have a preconceived notion about the type of person I am. Even if one of them DOES end up liking me in college, her friends (the other 179 girls) will certainly pressure her because they all hate me now.

you're totally right, if you were attracted to a girl and she said some stupid shit on a facebook wall, you would totally not talk to that girl ever and ban her from your penis for life too, and you and your 179 facebook buddies would never let it go and want to ruin her life

why you even took this shit seriously is sort of weird, it's some facebook group, you should have just trolled them for fun, why apologize? who cares what they think about you, if a girl is attracted to you, she is attracted to you, this facebook wall shit won't change anything if you go meet and talk to them in person and they find you attractive, they will change their tune in less then a second

oh and do these words sound familiar to you

''OH I HATE X GUY, HE IS SUCH AN ASSHOLE, I WOULD NEVER DATE HIM''

~2 weeks later that girl sucks that guy off at a party, and the ljbf guy who herd the story and knows he got some, starts to think, ''why do assholes get all the girls?''

when in reality that guy probably wasn't even an asshole, or being an asshole had very little to do with anything

Get the fuck off of these bullshit Facebook groups and save the pleasure (and it really is a true pleasure) of starting afresh with a massive group of exciting people your age for when you start college for real!

And stop worrying about this 8) just work on making yourself the most attractive and confident person you can be before college starts.

The best players I know are hated by the majority of people they interact with. If you're playing the numbers game it's inevitable that you're going to step on toes and fuck people over, unless you're working on a large area with people who have no idea of other peoples existence.

My advice would be to play it chill. You're probably going to be well known already (Not necessarily a bad thing I might add.) and you're going to have a degree of "magnetization".

In my opinion, is really seems like groupthink is working here, where all the girls are just jumping on the bandwagon.

When college actually begins, they'll disperse easily enough as they fall into the backstabbing and politics that dominates their shallow minds.

There was no way you weren't going to get a reaction to that comment. What's the last thing girls approaching college want to be told? That they're still acting like they're in high school! It was a bold fucking move to be honest, but as others have said, it could go in your favour? There's a thin line between love and hate as they say. The worst thing you could do now is be all apologetic and try to "make it up to them". Just act like it was a joke and if they can't deal with it that's their problem. A part of them must respect the fact that you had the nerve to say that, so keep showing the same level of nerve and I'm sure you'll be just fine!
