| Post subject: | The Community Today |
Observing the forums as a guest and now an official member of the site, ego is the word that comes to mind. People in this community preach what Pick Up is however how much is from actual experience and understanding is a mystery. I'm not questioning the authenticity of anyone's claims. I'm also not talking about giving advice, no, it's far more simpler than that. It's the ever so popular 'ctrl c + v' amongst the community. Everyone wants to be called a Pick Up God and the forum is the perfect mask to create this illusion. You can be exactly who you want to be, how could anyone else possibly know this is all just a facade? With all the various materials published not to mention the masses on the forums, everyone becomes a so-called 'expert', in the sense that most people know exactly what to do in any given situation. Yet how many of you can actually use this knowledge and implement it to great success? Don't answer, your ego's will already be kicking in. On more serious topic. The war raging amongst the community of what method is correct puzzles me greatly. It's now a battle of who has slept with the most women and if that number is not plausible enough then the advice being given is as useful as the crap that comes our of your arse. The following post keep creeping up where members of the community state "you're wrong, post evidence of your success". The overall point is being missed. If only people were more open minded to acknowledge the useful information posted rather than pick out all the negatives then everyone could benefit from one another. Everything posted is valid, it's the ability to see what useful aspect you can take from it that's missing. It's not about the method, it's about you. Echoing the sentiments of various members: any given method would not yield the same results in any given man. The question being what will? It's adaption. It's about testing various methods/materials and keeping a log of the outcome (very important). Without a log, one cannot possibly begin to understand where he/she has failed. You will begin to see consistencies of the results you are getting and only then can you identify the area/s that need improving. This should be done no matter how experienced you are. There will be a point where the journal turns into various other matters like work/hobbies/skill sets. It's at that point you will see that pick up was just the seed and the actual tree is life itself. It's all inter-connected. This however is a different topic. Once you begin analysing the results you are getting, you start to see what is working for you and what had a positive result. From there implementing these positive factors into your personality is what keeps it congruent with who you. It will also improve you as a person. You're not changing yourself, you are polishing who you already are. We are all diamonds, some just need to be cut and polished a little more than others. I post this thread as a regret of what this forum is turning into. It shouldn't matter if you are a 'god' at pick up or a complete amateur, everyone is equal at the end of the day and we can all learn from one another. It's time to stop seeing the negatives in each other posts and picking up on the contributing factors that we as a community can benefit from. Let's turn over a new leaf and start respecting one another regardless of the experience one has. ~ Lyric |

Pretty true, but I think it's a bit hypocritical to post a topic on peoples ego's when you're actually also looking for that acceptance and ego-boost yourself It's one of the greatest things you could want isn't it? Posting a topic and have responses of value find their way into the questions relation...and in the end it's you who's getting the ego-boost cause you're now like "Exactly Don't deny it man, is it not what we're all coming on the forum for? That ego boost, the inner confidence to be the better and best selves? I think that the community is mostly made of people giving and taking value. If you post a good post, you're expecting something in return of value from others from the forum, if you get responses of little or no value at all (trolls) then that topic will shrivel and you're ego will be damaged. You see what I'm getting at? Remember the old age saying "Sharing is caring"? It's the general principle here. If you come on here and claim you're alias, atleast have the decency to share you're success with others so they can give that content to others to HELP others...that's what it's all about, helping others. I don't think we need evidence for everything in this world, whatever happened to just trusting and believing others and taking their word for it? When you read "The Game" and Style told you that he was getting laid like a rockstar in the Project Hollywood mansion...did you not believe his word like it was the gospel? He didn't give pictures to substantiate his claims or success, but he did give you a fantastic insight into that world and he managed to intrigue you in his journey and that seemed to be enough to make you follow the same path! I think in todays world, if something is claimed to be considered "real", it has to be seen in the physical space to be justified true. I think that's crap. Maybe it's more about what is not seen and what cannot be seen in the present that is more real and has more value than something we wait our whole lives to just touch. Why do you need to see something to make it real? Just because you don't see something happening doesn't mean that it doesn't happen. You don't see amoebas...yet they are there!

HellHound A great post Hellhound and well written. I guess everyone has a different agenda for the forums. As much as I like to see it as people helping people, some have their own personal reasons like you stated. Just take the recent threads, people troll each other whether it's for amusement or insecurity or just for the sake of trolling. They use intelligent language and pick on grammar faults which they rationalize as the person not being adequate enough. Who is actually reading the material as it's written? Taking value from it that will help them develop and evolve. Chai It doesn't matter if people like/dislike your post. It's an opinion and you will always find people who disagree with your view, it's apart of life. It's the beauty of living in a world where humanity are able to independently think and believe strongly in their views. Hence religion. There is no right or wrong. Ego plays a little part in my post yet it's very relevant. I'm saying 'ego' blinds people from seeing what's truly there. It's about seeing the true picture rather than nitpicking at things to validate your own ego. On the contrary I disagree that people seek validation from the forums. It however might be true for others however I see the community as one big team. Working in a team opens doors for creativity which leads to greater results not to mention ideas. It also allows us to learn new skill sets from those who have it. Essentially we learn from each other. It's about seeing a new way around the same 'problem' if you like. I'm talking about open-mindedness. I agree with the evidence part. I feel you misinterpreted my post to think I mean evidence = truth. This is not the case. As I stated in my earlier post, I'm seeing posts such as 'you're wrong, post your evidence' creeping on a regular basis, in which I said the point was being missed. Meaning it is a defence mechanism that the person is correct seeing as he's: a) more experienced or b) is getting a substantial result with it. The point of the post was that the inexperienced are often put to the side yet they are just as valuable as the experienced. As previously mentioned it's the ability to recognise what value can be taken from the post that's missing. One way to put it is be more open-minded. Consider alternative possibilities and don't be afraid to try it out. People are too quick to say 'that won't work' or 'that's stupid' yet don't give it a try. Explore new opportunities and see what happens. Those who found a method that worked for them has stuck to it since. Some go that extra step and continue testing and develop themselves further. Don't be afraid to fail. Your last paragraph I love. I agree with everything you have on the topic and it further proves that having an open mind is key. It enables creativity and imagination. Those who hide behind evidence and have to have everything proven/seen are limiting themselves. It reminds of me spirituality. Like an aura about that cannot be seen yet links everyone together. |

"Knowledge is merely opinion" - Storm (Tim Minchin). Of course there isno right or wrong to a certain degree, but there does need to be consideration and simple thought given to a matter. If you think something doesn't sound right or feel good, voice your opinion and allow yourself to be heard and educate yourself in the same process. That's what the forum is here for. If people didn't have so many problems that needed resolving, it wouldn't exist. I do think alot of people (especially the newbies) are seeking more than the validation, they are seeking that acceptance and that comfort to be taken under someones wings and be taught the ropes. At the end of the day I think they need the most help and confidence boosts because we were all once like that not so long ago... Also, I've never really seen alot of the Zealot's or forum masters go into the newbie section and just give the new guys a helping hand to tell them which books are the best to read and which videos to watch etc... Many people get into the community, get the help, gain the success they yearn for and then they forget where they came from and forget about the little guys. I admit, I'm no forum master or leader (yet stuff and I go on the newbie section and help out those guys to give them confidence boost or a shove in the right (supposed) direction because what I've used so far has worked. What better than a forum leader to give the newbies that knowledge right from the get-go and have them respond with a 2 page respond on how fantastic the advice is? If that is not a great validation proof or an awesome ego-boost I don't know what is |

Thanks man thats great to know that excerpt is meaningful in some way The thing is that, we as a society have been hypnotized in a way to be taught and aswell as conditioned that if something is percieved as "real", it has to be felt with your hands and seen with you're eye's. If it doesn't fall into that context it is either scrutinized by science or left in the hands of trolls..or worse.SKEPTICS Skeptics are the worst because they need the most evidence and complex answers for the simplest solutions. What the hell is that about seriously? Take Ghosts for example. You ask any kind of skeptical person what they think of when 'Ghost' comes to mind, immediately they think: Fairytale, nonsense, hogwash, childish rubbish...etc You go and look on the internet and you'll find countless videos and documentations of these fascinating beings that they DO exist...you don't need to have fancy scientific equipment with readings on the tempretures of the air and the winds and that crap...all you need to do, is turn off the lights, keep your mind open...and ask these souls in the room a question! That's all you need to do! After a while, you will get a response! These things have been trapped in the same state for godknows how many years and after so long they finally have contact, why would they not be afraid to talk to someone? Science has taught us that it can over-rule and explain everything. Science can't explain the true nature of the existence and creation and wonders of the universe so theirs their first fuckup haha. No-one takes peoples word for anything! If something has been documented it has to be scrutinized mercilessly, studied endlessly (in the hopes of finding some type of flaw) and in the end if there is no flaw or some any relation to how science can debunk it or disprove it, it's tossed on the shelf!? How messed up is that?! Go watch a series called Ghost Adventures, it is the most incredible and fascinating show I've ever seen and given me an entirely new perspective on what is waiting for me on the other side...there are other worlds besides this one, they do exist, and I think if scientists would just stop trying to prove everything on a scale of what ranges in numbers or a on an LCD screen then I think they would be more open to just accept there are more things that they cannot explain that they CAN explain.
