I know the solution to my problem i.e. meet other women. I have been talking to other girls this semester so i get it.

I am just dying to know why she would show these IOIs for 4 freaking months on a consistent basis, get her friends to follow me, and make an attempt to follow me/talk to me, and finally say no to lunch?

It's not even about the lunch, its more so why would she say no? I didn't mean it as a date btw....i wanted to confront her on what she was doing in class for the past 4 months during lunch.

STOP giving this kid bad, pussy ass advice. He did what was instinctive, not following some set of bullshit rules like most of you do. Only thing he needs help with is how to handle the girl's reactions as a result of him being proactive in order to not fuck up a situation that's heading in the right direction already.

Well guys, I go to college and this girl has been giving me IOIs constantly throughout the semester. Basically hair preening, leg twisting etc. Were in college, in a small class I see her 3 times a week. Everyday I see her she tries to get my attention, by talking louder than usual, walking across the class (her friend checks to see if I am looking at her) This has been going on for 3 months, we exchanged names and talk a bit, and she seems really excited and enthusiastic. However, I kinda waited for her in the parking lot (we walked together one time to the parking lot so i know she comes from there) since I thought she was comfortable w/me and she later said I was creeping her out (i guess because she thought I was a stalker)...she was smiling/laughing while saying this, BUT she was serious. So because of this, I stopped paying attention to her, but I would a little bit here and there- she would hair preen to get my attention etc. her friends would help her. I noticed that she followed me to the library-she was walking around hoping that I'd notice her and talk to her. I did and I saw more IOIs whilst talking to her. She called me a creep yet she was doing this, so I thought she was just shy (SHE is pretty shy though)....later I caught her friends following me!!!? Maybe she thought I was stalking her earlier so she sent her friends to keep tabs on me? I wasn't stalking her, I wanted to confront her about what she was doing in class.... Anyways, so after I noticed she was making an effort to talk to me, by showing up at the library, when she knew I'd be there, I figured maybe i had creeped her out and now shes ok. So today I again waited in the p-lot and asked her if she wants to get a bite to eat....she smiled and shaked her head....I was a bit shocked and asked her why, she didnt say anything, she was walking faster and faster and suddenly went to the washroom and said i'll see you later..... So, my problem is, why would she show so many IOIs, follow me, have her friends follow me, only to say no to something as innocent as lunch? Shes a pretty shy girl so I've been told. She def likes me - when I did talk to her she was really happy (all smiles and giggles)....even when she said no to lunch with me, she was smiling. I think she wanted to say yes, but she thought it would be a date and I would be only interested in her body etc....that wasnt it though, I just wanted to talk to her confront her about what she was doing and take it from there. I didn't like this chick, but I found myself starring at her one day since she was pretty - her friends caught me and she began to show these IOIs that I mentioned above....SHE WAS DOING THIS FOR THE PAST 4 MONTHS!. Maybe I waited to long? Maybe she doesn't know me that well to go to lunch with me? What should I do now?

i realize i have to move on, I already knew before I talked to her that it wasnt gonna work out, but I tried anyways b/c I wanted to. I would just like to know, why after giving so many IOIs, calling me a creep (smiling whilst doing so) and then following me and trying to talk to me she would say no to lunch? The parking lot thing is creepy, I'd avoid that in the future with anything...she sounds like a typical, insecure young girl. Damn, your in college, the world poo tang is your oyster...have fun... Yes, girls do thing that have us go "huh?" all the time...I hate to tell you, it doesn't stop... if you ignore her, you might end up meeting her out one night and hooking up with her...

Sometimes there's no reason at all, humans are complex and nobody full understands the way we work. Maybe the day you asked her out to lunch somebody told her she was too easy, so it made her self conscious and she said no. You don't and never will know the real reasons.

Confronting is something you do to your girlfriend if you suspect her of cheating on you. It's not something you do to a girl you barely know.
