I think dwelling too much on text can be self-destructive. I typically use it to continue keeping her in an attracted/hooked state for days or periods when I can't or don't see her. I also follow close to a 2:1 ratio of her texting first:me texting first. I usually keep my texts shorter than hers unless i'm going into a small routine (typically comfort routines) in which case it's ok. Making a long text and getting a short reply is a bad look.
The ideal thing is to have built some attraction and comfort prior to texting, I don't like the idea of getting to know her so much through text. I prefer face to face.
And remember some girls take an eternity to reply back to you, don't take it personal.
I talk to a couple girls (a 7 and an 8 ) who I don't have much interest in just to get the text game down. The first time I texted the 8 (she was attracted but there was little comfort, had buyer's remorse) she acted really boring, didn't use emoticons like most girls do. I ended the convo saying I had to do something and basically did a major take-away by not talking to her at all, of course she ended up texting me more boring BS about an assignment (she's in my class) and I made it clear through my replies that she was boring me, and ended the convo again. She finally becomes needy for the attention from me again and we hit it off in class.
So in other words, don't be too pushy/needy on text.
