In my opinion, if your going indirect, approach girls / groups withdance related questions. Although inDirect ain't my style I would say something like "Hey guys, sorry to bother you, I'm just about to go practice some new moves before the dance competition starts but I need to ask this...Hardstyle Shuffle or Tektonik?" By throwing in that you're about to go and meet up / practice with some friends of yours, you're telling them that you need to be somewhere and can't stay for that long (throw in a time constraint if you like aswell) and you really wanted to get an opinion before you bounce. It comes off as completely legit because the event can be used in succession with the opener "Who lies more, men or women?" Who cares who lies more? Their there to party and dance, so make openers or even a routine in relation to that...You can even say, and I reckon this would really get a conversation going... "Hey guys, quick question: Deadmau5 or Armin Van Burren?" From my experience, this is always a FANTASTIC ice-breaker and awesome starter towards a conversation, you can even tell if there is a girl in the group that likes the same music as you. You're getting them to qualify themselves without them knowing it. If you're more into Direct say something like "Hey, I was just about to go and practice with some friends before the competition starts, but I just had to come over and say I really like you're dance clothes..." Wait for response...then reply with "No problem, I haven't seen a single girl here who can dress well to compliment their dancing, you just have a certain vibe about you...I like that as a really confident guy and your letting her know right away what you're intentions towards her are, that's why Direct is so effective. You see what I'm getting at? |
