| Post subject: | Skin care? |
Hello all, My question is what are the good skin care products to be using? My family has great skin, so do I still need to be using expensive products? If so what type should I be using? If I don't need expensive products what are some good over the counter products? I need information about cleansers, moisturizers and anything else I should use. Thanks a lot. Rhett |

For a guy, I've very clued up on skin care. Here's my routine (I actually have a day and a night routine, but I'll keep it simple): In the shower (by the way have tepid temperature showers, tepid is halfway between luke warm and cold, every other temperature is harmful), I just wash my face with my body wash. Then I use a facial scrub, anything is fine. The scrub makes it super easy to shave (think of a knife through melted butter). Get out, don't rub yourself dry, pat yourself dry. Then I use the following in this order: 1. Liz Earle Men's Cleanse and Polish - honestly this thing is gold 2. Liz Earle Exfoliator (any will do from their selection) - use a few times a week, really livens up the face 3. Depending on if you have acne, I use a oil free acne preventer from Neutrogena which has salicylic acid, salicylic acid is amazing for getting rid of acne. 4. http://www.jergens.com/products/natural ... rizer.aspx This is basically a moisturiser that adds a healthy glow to your face so you don't look dull. And has SPF20, win! Trust me the sun, even if it is fucking snowing outside or a hurricane is going past, has 3 types of UV radiation in the air at all times of weather, the SPF blocks out the 2 harmful ones and lets in the 1 good one. I think this product is for women, but I couldn't give a shit it doesn't make you look gay or anything, just adds a good glow. Voila! Done. Funnily enough I did a test this morning. Normally I just go and do this straight out of the shower but I waited for a bit. Looked in the mirror, saw how dull and dry I looked then did my routine. Big difference! I don't know if you can get Sudocrem where you live (if you can't just import it it's so worth it), but many people think it's only for baby's nappy rash. Wrong. Apply a thin layer all on your face (before bed only because it makes you look like a ghost), let it soak in, go to bed and when you wake up your face will be so soft I promise you won't stop stroking your face all day. I am for fanatical about looking good, excluding make up I probably own more stuff than a woman. I don't have perfect skin I still get spots but it's really soft, doesn't look dull and I look a lot more attractive after I do it all! |

If you want a nice skin, it's not some lotion which are gonna give it to you, it has to come from what you eat. Eat lots of blueberries, mushrooms, nuts, avocados, drink lots of water. If you have a good diet you can see the reselt within weeks. Also put some nivea cream before you go to bed and that will be fine. |

What you eat plays a big part but if that was only the thing that affected you these skin care companies wouldn't exist.Eating well doesn't clear your pours, clear dead skin cells, encourage new growth etc. And food has no relation to acne at all. |

Dude what are you smoking? Of course food plays a partin acne problems...where else does acne come from? The moon? When you have too much of a specific nutrient and lack in another you're body has to take away the composites in ANY food and break it down for your body to use as nourishment. Doesn't matter what the hell you give your body, if you can swallow it and get into your stomach you will digest it and you're digestive system will try to break it down... Essentially, if you digest too much Omega-6 (fatty acids), it will induce hormones and can soon lead to inflimations and redness which can create....ACNE! I guarantee you that if you eat a 2 bags of potato chips, a plate of cookies, a slice of pizza and down all that with a tall glass of CocaCola it will definitely contribute towards your acne or even agrivate it and speed up the process... Where are you getting this nonsense...? Drinking large quantities of water have been scientifically proven to clear out toxins and hydrate you're skin to renew skin cell development...when you rid your body of these toxins stored up in your body you are less likely to fall prey to skin problem and even health problems. You're body is basically 98% water so depriving it of that will result in shit appearing on your body. Have you ever heard of Menshealth? These guys dish out fucking home remedies and scientifically developed diets to make you look better and younger faster than you can pick your nose...and to say that eating well doesn't contribute is plain bullshit. Hygiene also plays part in skin problems man. If you don't shower for a week you're bound to get a random zit on your face, there is only so much you're body can do for you on the inside, you also have to take care of it on the outside. If you say that food has no connection / relation to acne then you're just ignorant. |
