I was wondering if you guys could suggest anything, I think it's a lost cause but someone may have an idea for me.

I built up a good playful rapport with a girl at work. Just before she was about to leave for another placement I noticed her become a lot more flirty, things like "there's a nice bar right next to my place, my sister is away for 4 months so I have the house to myself…" so I was thinking hey this is my lucky week, I hardly have to do any work with this girl.

So obviously we'd arranged to meet at this place near her but at the last minute she backed out, citing her sister was flying out that day and she had to see her off. Fine I thought. She left work, and I had some text game with her - she was quite good at that too - and asked if she wanted to meet up one of the following weekends, but she replied saying she couldn't as it was "hectic".

I was starting to think she was playing games but 10mins later she texted again saying "is that ok? Maybe next weekend??" - which I thought was a mistake, in the text game sense, as it seemed to give off an element of desperacy. But, later in the week when I tried to make arrangements again I was told "I'm visiting my parents".

So I sort of gave up for a couple of weeks. Decided to text again about 2 weeks after all this, got a reply but no reply to my follow up. It's a weird switch, like maybe she's hooked up with someone else. This is just basically a red herring now isn't it?

Well judging by that it looks like I didn't make myself clear -

I tried to get her to meet up the Saturday right after her sister left, which is when I got the first excuse. Then the 2nd time was the weekend after that, but when I got another excuse I thought I can't keep on asking and getting excuses all the time.

Only thing I can think of now is to keep sending a short jokey text every now and then, maybe every week or so.
