i have had a huge lack of energy lately, probably the last six months or so. however i have noticed whenever i have alot of energy i.e i drink a bottle of coke or have a coffee or some glucose powder or whatever i turn into this quick witted fun to be around guy and i generally love myself! its great! the only down side is that shit is bad for you and it never lasts more than an hour or so. now i will break down my diet, if you have any ideas where i can change it to give me an all day energy boost and not just a quick one please let me know. -i usually have a small breakfast (banana or a bowl of cereal. something quick and easy) -I go to the gym about 5 days a week and i take pre workout (creatine with caffeeine and a whole lot of other stuff that amps me up for an hour or so) i started taking this a little less than a year ago so im thinking maybe this could be the cause? i also take protein shakes after a workout. -lunch is usually late, around 2:30. i will usually have like a sandwich or something. -dinner is late too, probably between 9-10 and this could be anything from a roast to mcdonalds to a banana and a protein shake. -in between meals i will snack on whatever i can get my hands on, french fries or whatever. -i think i dont eat enough food through the day as i usually have small meals. so has anyone got any ideas of some diet changes i should make to put me in a better mood for the day? |

eat more clean, less simple carbs, continue working out, give it a good 3+ weeks off the weed, see how you feel then, stimulants and simple carbs will give you momentary boosts to how you feel, but as you stop getting that energy from them you will wind up feeling more drained in the end, cardio and working out will wear you out, but the more you condition your body (cardio especially) the easier it will be to feel good, also working out will help you release endorphins, but there are tons of reasons you could be feeling like shit, could be diet, could be exercise, you could be depressed, could be withdrawal, who knows, if it is really an issue for you go see a doctor |

I'm going to the doctor tomorrow for an unrelated issue so I will bring it up with him. I'm going to get off the pre workout for a while to see If that helps, I already decided to quit the weed. Will start having bigger breakfasts to keep me going through the day and lunch at an appropriate hour as well as thinking about picking up a multi vitamin. Pumpington can you send Otis this link? I'd be keen to hear what he has to say on this issue (I'm on my phone and the browser is horrible or I would do it myself) |

I'm no doctor, but IMHO the problem is you don't eat! You are a man, so eat like one, especially if you are working out. Have a larger meal than a sandwich! Have a proper lunch - a meal or at least a salad, sandwich is useless! The same applies for dinner, McDonalds is not dinner, avoid fast food! I'm one of the "old-school athletes" (avoid most supplements and powders) Im doing Judo (japanese wrestling) 4 times a week, for past 10 years, and trust me, you don't need any "pre-workout" stimulants. Yeah sure, they might give you a boost, but trust me ,try working out without them and in few weeks you probably won't even remember why you took them in the first place. |

Hey safety, I am on a cutting period now and I had the same problem as you. First of all, increase your water intake. Your body needs more water in order to function properly and digest your supplements. Second, try to decrease your coffeeine consumption and remove sugar from your diet. First week you will be exhausted, but then you will adapt to it. Also remove creatine, your body spends way more energy to digest it. Finally, eat more, at least 5 times per day. Consume only natural (organic) and healthy food. Cook your food before you are going somewhere and take lunch box with you. Cheers, OliverKing. |

I'm with Archer mostly, I also work out 5-6 days your body needs 1 gram protein per lb body weight. STAY AWAY from fast food, bananas, apples, peanut butter, nuts, for snacks. I do however use protein supplements, added to whole foods. I try do do 4-5 meals per day, largest at midday. If you feel you need a boost for pre-workout. Google "The New Real Deal" (that stuff will rock your workout) just don't depend on ANY supplement! also make sure to get a minimum 8hrs sleep daily. Lay off the dope for a few, it fools your brain into a relaxed state. not the true rest/recovery your body is craving. Drink LOTS of water to keep system flushed! Hope this helps |

You need to eat 3 full meals a day, but spread it out among 4-6 meals at the same time every day. The weed is not the problem, but stopping won't hurt, it will just be boring =) |
