Post subject:  Body language books techniques in field

So I bought "The Definitive Book on Body Language" and I must say it's a great read.
So I've got two questions:

1.I'm wondering how practical it is?
I'm going tonight to a party, mainly to check the stuff I read there.....
Has anyone read the book and can honestly say that the stuff is very relevant?
If it is, shouldn't I be seeing A TON of the things there "in field"?

2. In the book it said that "light elbow touching for 3 seconds" can dramatically increase your results in getting a positive answer from someone (even a stranger) . That sounds a bit creepy.... Do people do that with strangers? I don't honestly remember anyone ever doing that on me / seeing it being used on someone else.

In my opinion some of it's useful. I suggest not getting too caught up into the idea of reading every single movement of the other person. You would like to focus on what is happening and what the person is saying. No need to become all worked up over this.

Well, if what the book is saying (and many people on the forum) is true, body language is more accurate to read people than words.
And reading body language isn't reading into a gesture, but into a whole bunch of them combined.
Anyways, I'll just go and see how it goes. Would still like some more comments

It is. I am just saying don't get too concerned. The conversation should be as natural as possible. But it doesn't hurt to test them in the field. It will probably help ingrain it with your game.

Just tested it and it works.
The night itself was kind of great. A "reunion" of High School people with music, alcohol etc etc....
Had around 4-5 people tell me "Omg I didn't recognize you, man you've changed". That was definitively a compliment lol. I give credits to this forum :P

Anyways, can anyone please "expand" on the whole touching of elbows thing?
It seems... unnatural. I'd love a video if anyone has one.
Thanks
