so basically just hanging with couple of people approximatly 2 girls and 3 guys. one my friends likes the girl and the girl really doesnt find him attractive or on that level. more like friends. but hes my friend and i like the girl that hes friends with. basically my friend takes my hat off my head. to make him seem more dominant. how should i counter act without demonstrating low value in front of that girl. |

Let me restate a few things, and just tell me if I'm wrong. Your friend likes a girl, you're into the same girl. The three of you are hanging out with a few others, and he snatches your hat to try to look cool. If necessary, by all means correct me. Anyways... Women don't like dick-measuring contests, at least mature intelligent women don't usually enjoy it. So if you yell at the guy, confront him, or mock him and you two end up trading verbal barbs, you're gonna look like a tool. It's the same when it's one-sided. It's pretty easy to see when a guy is trying too hard. So just ignore it and keep talking. It's a hat, not a kidney, and he's your buddy so you know you're getting it back in a matter of minutes. However, if this guy is your friend, you should probably talk to him. If you know for a fact the girl isn't interested in him, I mean firsthand knowledge, she told you herself, I think you have a responsibility as a good friend to tell him so. It'll suck, and he probably won't believe you at first, but it'll get the ball rolling on his moving on. As his friend, you shoudl also be comfortable telling him that you didn't appreciate pulling that stunt just to try to seem cool. You're not 13, you shouldn't have to try to bully people or pull 7th grade moves to impress girls. If he's a good friend, he'll respect that and not act like such a dick. However, there's always a chance he won't, especially if his crush on the girl is going over the deep end already. In that case, if he does it again, you ignore and game the girl directly. You escalate physically, and you pull ahead while he's still floundering like a child. |
