Post subject:  Where Did I Go Wrong?
So I've been talking to this girl (school friend of one of my roommates) for a little while. From the beginning she showed interest in me, and basically asked me out on a a few occasions. Still getting used to the whole flirting thing, but I thought I was doing pretty good, although probably moving things along at a slower AFC pace. Anyway, we were supposed to hang out tonight for the second time and have a few drinks and some ramen noodles (she kept bugging me about trying korean ramen). Anyway, it was never really clearly stated where we would be doing said activities so near the end I try to make an excuse to go to her place. But yeah, at some point, she randomly threw out some BS excuse about promising her friend she'd meet her for a drink. Which struck me as odd, because she was the one pushing for this the whole way.

Anyway, here's our text convo from earlier today. Any ideas where I went wrong? I have a few ideas, but I'd like an outside opinion.

Me: Uno mas, need saki bombs (talking about my last exam)
Her: Hahahah. Congrats! Call in a bomb threat or give me an excuse to leave work early.
Me: I'm gunna bring some sapporo. yum
Her: We have to actually bomb them though
Me: I didn't know there were other options
Her: You make it so easy on me to like you when you say things like that
Her: hahhaha
Me: I'm beginning to think the snow doesn't want us spending time together (I was commenting on the snow flurries we had today because the first time we were supposed to hang out, there was a huuuuge snow storm that kinda hosed our plans)
Her: hahahah
Her: I told katelyn i'd stop by her place for a drink tonight. wanna do something after that? or try tomorrow?
Me: Can't tomorrow, when you gunna be free tonight
Her: Whenever really, i'm not really working on a schedule. Wanna do saki bombs and then go to a hole in the wall bar?
Me: Lets start with saki bombs then play the rest by year. 8 work for you?
Her: I'll bring the saki
Me: So how about i head to your place around 9ish with ramen, sapporo, and the random pieces of your kitchen. because i'm about to take a much needed nap
Her: i told katelyn id go to her place for margaritas. let me double check on what her plans are..if anything call me when you wake up from your nap.
Me: alright, talk to you later (mistake?)



So a few questions.

1. Do I call her later tonight? My first instinct is that this is a bad idea because at this point I'm basically following her lead.
2. Where do you think I went wrong?
3. How would you have handled her last minute flake?
4. Where do i go from here?

You didnt do anything wrong, I dont see what the problem is, she straight up wants to drink with you, just she has plans, so she is inviting you.

Call her up and say lets meet up for margaritas or saki and well get your friend really drunk and then well head out to a club/bar.

You gotta be assertive and lead her now. Just call her and tell her whats happening. Invite a wingman if you want, say your bringing a friend and you'll meet at XX @ XX:XX.

You are fine bro, just call her in like 30 mins or so after you got a wing who will go out with you so you arent alone and if she flakes you can game other girls.

maybe i am reading too much into it. but i dunno. it just threw me off that she threw out the "i'm meeting up with a friend" before we were supposed to hang out. a similar kind of thing happened the last time we hung out. her co-worker randomly showed up and kinda hosed the "date" vibe.

i don't know. i feel like every time i think she's into me. she bounces back into like a "let's just hang out" mode.

So do the same thing, and if she brings a girl bring a guy to disable her friend and just game her then... easy as that. You are overanalyzing this. Just have fun, if she is getting boring move on and like I said your with ur mate so just meet two new girls.

so i forgot to mention this in the original post. but "katelyn" the girl who she's meeting up with. is the cousin and roommate of the guy she was previously hooking up with. who is also good friends with my roommate. they stopped seeing each other, but the whole situation is messing with my head. i initially wasn't even planning on pursuing her because of the social circle mess but she started pursuing me and i started liking her.

also, i should add that she didn't invite me over there to have margaritas with them. but i'm about to call her.... we'll see how tonight goes.

Again you are just making an excuse, who cares!! Just get her isolated and do your thing. You think they havent spoken about you? They clearly have, you tell us about her, and she tells everyone about you. Its human nature. You think she is telling her friends omg I shouldnt our social circle... no she is saying, why wont he come over I want him so bad, and her friends are making a gay excuse to comfort her. Just be a man and get your ass over there and get her in a bed and fuck the shit out of her.

dude, you are so right. i talked to her on the phone and she was still open and receptive to rescheduling. even re-reading the conversation i posted makes me realize she showed me signs that she still wanted it to happen.

it's crazy how my fat AFC thoughts crept in and made me read the worst possible scenario from her words...... still got a lotta demons to process i guess. thanks for calling me out on it bro. i needed that
