I've had this one friend since freshman year (now Juinors) who just came back from studying abroad. Prior to this we were strictly friends for 2 years. When she came back I noticed that she was immediately way more touchy and flirty with me (sitting on my lap, constantly touching me). I passed this off as her just being inebriated that night. However, since then (roughly a month and a half) she has been hitting me up late on weekends almost without fail. Last weekend she came to my party and invited me back to her place afterward, alone. No moves were made. The next night she called and texted me at 1am to ask where I had hid her bag of chips. I found this very odd. While she is naturally flirty with a lot of people, I have often acted "immune" to it (not responding to all texts, never changing my plans, making fun of her a lot). She has also told me that I should have asked to my frat's date night. Other then that, our conversations are not overtly flirtatious. So what do you guys think? |

Hey man, see if I can't help a bit here. Some girls are naturally flirty, and those sorts of actions don't mean that she is significantly more interested in you than other guys. That being said, assume she's into you. Rather than wait for her to pull out a neon sign saying "put it in me," start leading the physicality and see if she goes with it. If you try to decode any one girl's actions you'll go nuts, whereas if you assume all women are interested until they say/do something to prove otherwise, you'll avoid these sorts of headaches. If you're not sure how, then I do recommend one piece of reading, and that's the DiCarlo escalation ladder. It's very basic, it's not really a method, and it's easy to incorporate into whatever you already do. By the way, I'll probably be in Pittsburgh this weekend, unless the weather takes a turn because they are calling for snow friday and saturday, so hit my cell if you want to head out to any bars/clubs for practice. That's assuming you're not really trying to date this girl and get exclusive. |
