I want to try to keep this short, but I've got an LJBF who sent me a long mean email to defriend me 2 years ago on Myspace. This came after a 2 week camping trip with her where we didn't really get along to well because long camping trips arn't my thing. After this, on myspace during one of our conversations she bashed me for not working 40 hours a week so my comeback was "At least I'm getting progressively richer and not more and more in debt like you." That was when she sent me a long email bashing every aspect about my life then deleted me. How do I fix something like this? It's her birthday so even though she doesn't have a myspace anymore I was thinking of sending her a facebook message saying something like. "Even though I've been a bad friend, I thought it couldn't hurt to wish you a happy birthday and ask how you've been doing?" Is this a good idea? If you need to know more details about this just let me know. I didn't want to bore anyone with a whole life story. |

If you respect her and want to salvage the friendship, take the earnest approach. This isn't about manipulation tactics, but rather to right a wrong. You know the situation better than anyone here could ever, so go with your gut on this one. What I'd do is draft up something, let it sit for a few days and revisit it to see if it's something you feel honest about (often when writing it can drudge up a lot of emotion, so sometimes its best to leave it for a day or so and come back to it with a fresh eye before sending it off). |

How the fuck have you been a bad friend? ... Are you trying to make her feel sorry for you? Because in no way were you a bad friend.
