Post subject:  FaceBook... Hurtful to PUAs ??

I know that having a FaceBook page is mandatory in our society nowadays, but couldn't using FB in certain situations be a negative??

Example: I was chatting up a girl at a local Starbucks and things were going very well. We must've spent 40 mins just BS'ing about life, funny stories, etc. Time was running out and we both had places to be, but I wasn't 100% sure about doing a number-close so I got her FB info (she even used my laptop to track her profile down for me).

The intention here was to exchange a few FB messages and set up a day 2 etc. Problem... She never accepted my Friend request. The obvious reaction to this is, "well obviously she wasn't that into you and was just being nice!" I REALLY don't think that was the case at all... She even stuck around after giving up her seat in one of those, "are you gonna make a move?" stances.

Was she turned off that I didn't go for the number?? Is FB too intimate to give to strangers (even more so than a number?). Maybe she was "in a relationship" on FB and didn't want me to see?

Thanks for your input and help guys! I had the "bright idea" that getting her FB would be less aggressive-looking than going for the number.... I thought wrong lol. I will not make that mistake again!

Well I get this "add me on facebook" shit sometimes. My response usually is something along the lines of "Wow, slow down! We're not that close yet, give me your phone number".

I fucking hate facebook so much. I check it all the time and it sucks away my time and I've never really enjoyed it that much. I do have some interesting conversation threads going on it but none of that shit is gonna lead anywhere except to some light amusement.

I also just can't bring myself to post stupid pictures of me doing cool shit on there ("maybe because you don't have any") and it's basically this whole exhibitionistic, ego-centric, narcisistic place that's just vile and disgusting. Actually, facebook represents everything that I think is wrong with people my age. Ok I'll shut up now because this could go on for a long time if I don't.

Lol, easy Bro! I feel you though, it does seem like FB is becoming more like MySpace.... yuck =/

Fair point. Another consideration... I'm new to day game and so the whole kino-escalation thing is kinda different during the day so it's a bit harder for me to gauge IOIs and such. Also, I'm generally cool with making friends too lol.

But, alas, I F'd up! You are right.

On the thread of Facebook, I have actually picked up a dated a girl, using nothing but Facebook.

She added me as one of those "random adds". We got talking, we met up for a day 2 and in the space of a week and a half, we entered a relationship lasting over 8 months.

I read somewhere that it was impossible to create attraction, sexual tension or those butterfly feelings without being in person, but I believe that to be wrong now. She said that she was having dreams about me after our first night of talking. She even made herself cum by using pictures of me (I assure you, they were nothing dirty) she found on my Facebook.

Just a little spanner in the works. A little food for thought. :)

IT'S FUCKING FACEBOOK.

That is how bad we have come as a society, where it could be considered "too intimate" to give out a facebook name to someone, a profile which can be seen by MILLIONS OF PEOPLE. Dude go for the number, always go for the number, always go for the number, always go for the number.

Technology has definitely changed the way the game is and so has smart phones, social networks, online dating, SPAM, and cams. Everything tends to advance with time so, even the way the game works is different since the 06 book.

It is evolving, getting her facebook profile is going to be important in the future. But the number has always higher value, because on facebook, you have 500 friends, but in the phone diary, you have about 100 numbers - it's more private. And the biggest advantage of phone - phonecalls.

Post subject:  Follow-up Facebook Question...

So... before you all get mad, keep in mind that this happened to me this morning BEFORE I read all of your input and advice...

Saw yet another chic (let's call her "Jane") at the coffee shop whom I had remembered talking with before. The problem with the first time I chatted with her is that I was there with another girl so for obvious reasons I couldn't make a play for her number lol. I DID get her FB under a totally innocent premise as not to piss off the girl I was with though.

[Fast Forward To Today]

I start chatting up "Jane" (without even remembering where I knew her from until like 10 mins into the conversation) and things are going VERY well! She is qualifying without me even putting any hoops up for her to jump through. Now, again (and for the last F'ing time I PROMISE!), I did NOT grab her number. But for 2 good reasons:

1. We were already FB friends (or so I thought, more on this below...)
2. The hot Barista chic I always flirt with just sat down a couple seats away to take her lunch break, and I definitely don't want to mess up my flirty rapport with her. It's like instant value every time I go there!

More on reason 1.... So this morning I had X friends on FB, but this afternoon when I logged on I had X-1 friends... Who left my friends group ?? You guessed it, "Jane"!

Did I royally jack up to make her un-friend me??

Some factors possibly in my defense... I'm fairly confident that the last time I visited her FB page she DID in fact have a bf so perhaps it was to keep me from "disengaging" ?? Also, she did tell me about where she works (which I noted aloud was super close to my place) and even what times she works on what days so it's not like she left me with no way to get in touch with her...

What's with the "un-friend" ?? Was it defensive strategy on her part ?? I mean the conversation was SOLID (or so I thought...). Even times when I would let the convo go a bit silent for a moment to see if she would press on, she did every time!

Im interested in what the guys have to say about this.

Being unfriended is just rude.

Maybe she picked up on your interest in the other girl and was annoyed.

Maybe it was a shit test.
