Post subject:  Life After College, Suggestions for Success

Yes, I am new to the forum and appreciate the opportunity it provides for open exchanges between members of all ages and backgrounds. My thread here is aimed at all of the single guys like me who are out there living life "after college". So much focus is put on obtaining girls and relationships and pickups in college, but once you hit graduation day life changes.

To provide you with some info, I just turned 25, am 2 years out of college. I have my own place, car and career. I work the standard 40 hour week with some overtime. To put that in perspective for everyone not out of college, time is limited and more valuable to you once you have a job. College was great for me, I had lots of interactions, lays, hooksups, etc. I lived it up under the circumstances I had steady gf, and girls on the side.

Ok, fast forward to this year and out of college. I started the year off in a rough spot. Little to no girl interaction, I had major going out fear. Could not get over the idea of going clubbing solo and doing that whole game. Well what happened? I changed. A few months back (right before it started getting cold here in the northeast) I grew fed up and hit the clubs solo. It wasn't easy, going in alone, not knowing a sole in places. It did however, work after much effort. I found a girl (18), nice good looking, etc. We hung out and hooked up a few times. It eventually died out. There were challenges due to the "your not in my college" pressure she faced. Still major accomplishment for me since I never did that whole club game thing, not to mention I pulled it off solo.

Leading up to my discussion questions.......again assuming life after college (limited time, responsibilities to job mon-thursday at least)

option 1:
Should I focus my energy/time sourcing girls still in college? For example, I am in the same area as a my old college. It is possible I could still work out there, do you think that is good strategy? or would it be seen as creeper? It is possible I could even look to move jobs closer to a larger college area. I am not going to lie, I love the interaction with these types of girls and I miss college hookup/pickup life a lot. This age group is really the 18-21 year old group. Or do you think at my age this is more "living in the past" thinking and perhaps I should focus on ...

option 2:
Start joining some of the local meetup groups, do the spinning class the gym (not at college), try to transfer to the home office place at my work where there are other potential girls in the 22-28 year old range. I could also focus on the online aspects again the match and POF.

I really want to hear from people around my age who have been through the same transition. If you work a job like I have, you really do have to focus your energy and time on a specific niche with meeting girls to be successful. It becomes a train wreck trying to club for college girls and maintain dates with a girl from online or through another connection.

Seems like the club is a great place to meet the young ones, but its also going to be a harder challenge to break into their social cliques being out of there college SPAM. I am 25 and I can't give up the craving for picking up and hooking up, guess that isn't a bad thing. I still have a few quality years left in me. I just want to make sure I focus them in the best way.

Please share your experiences.

I'm in your age range and a few years out of college. Don't try and pick up college chicks. Your in two different stages of your life. They might be fun for a night but thats it. Still immature and that gets on my nerves. I've done POF, OKcupid you name it. Match is the best but still sucks. POF has nothing you want... I mean it was real bad lol

I'm not much into clubs cause most of the chicks there are still in college and I'm just ready for something more. I'm big on the grocery store, target, gym every now and then, the park or when I'm at lunch during work. It's a far cry from the college life style for sure. It's not like I avoid bars/clubs I just don't make them my primary target for girls. I like my girls to have an education, life and career. In my city the ones at that clubs are trash. Good for a night but nothing more. Just keep your eyes open everywhere you go man... Or go back to grad school ;)
