Just thought I'd post this before bed, there's this female "acquaintance" (I'm friends with her friends, haven't really talked to a lot. Maybe like 5 or 6 times.) Was in a conversation with some people nearby, she had been in the conversation previously but hadnt said anything for a couple minutes. She goes, "I like your shoes" Is that IOI? I mean, I know traditionally it's considered an IOI but does that apply to acquaintances or just strangers? And an IOI doesn't really mean that the girl is attracted to you, right? Because I mean, shit, I'm no Brad Pitt. Is an IOI more of a "I want to get to know you more" or a "I'm attracted to you" |

A compliment is definitely an IOI, but I believe the rule is there has to be 3 of them before you can know whether or not she is actually interested. |

I guess it really depends on the relationship you two have. No matter if she is interessted in you or not, this would be an opportunity to talk to her and create attraction. Girls often commenting my necklace and jewelery, but I take it more as an invitation to talk than assuming an IOI. |

I was drunk as shit, ignored her at first, then she gave some flabbergasted look so I turned and said, "oh that was you? Thanks."Girls often commenting my necklace and jewelery, but I take it more as an invitation to talk than assuming an IOI. And I'm just going to go out on a limb here. Ehem, umm, we were involved in a random court case previously (2 years ago) concerning some, ehem, cyber crimes...in which I was the defendant, she was the plaintiff. It's weird as fuck really. But now that I'm somewhat in her social circle, I guess she sort of has to forgive me. So yeah, uh. What do you make of that? |

I've had a girl who hates me tell me that I had awesome shoes. They were Ed Hardy shoes (this was in '09, back when that stuff was cool). I had just gotten out of work and was headed straight to a party nearby when this girl from another department stopped me to tell me how much she liked my shoes. Now, I was pretty shitty "PUA" at this point, and I'd unloaded a lot of experimental "technique" on this girl over the course of the preceding month or so, most of which just made me look like an asshole. But yeah, she hated me then and she hates me now, yet she still to this day throws me an occasional compliment about my appearance for whatever reason. To make a long story short, you need a hell of a lot more than some lone compliment about your shoes before you make any moves. In light of the whole "cyber crime" court thing, I'd say this is even more so the case, no pun intended. I'm not saying you don't have a shot with her: you very well might, but I'd be very leery, because she does not "have to forgive you," and she may have ulterior motives. Just my opinion. |
