PUA Forum :: University class. What should I have done?

I was in a large lecture hall yesterday attending a class. I was one of the last few people to arrive so I just sat down in the first empty seat I found. So with it being so cold and snowy where I am the seating were like this: Aisle, guy, seat with his coat, seat with my coat, me, seat with girl's coat, girl, girl's male friend. The girl was having some talk about painting with the friend and I didn't feel like talking to the guy sitting at the end.
During the lecture I noticed the girl was constantly looking at me and realized when I shifted my head I would see her turn away abruptly through my peripheral vision. I thought maybe she was interested but was shy and didn't want me to notice her staring at me. I knew I should probably have talked to her at the end of the class but just didn't know how to open especially with the lack of time and her friend being there. What should I have done?

Hey so what brings you into _____ (class name) you majoring in ______ (class shit) Her response you talk for a bit about majors and crap, then afterwards So I try to make it a habit of getting a study group for my classes, you seem interesting, your invited. Try something like that to end it, and get her number also.

"Noticed you looking at me several times during class, is there something in my hair?" (say it in a very concerned sounding voice). JK On a serious note though, what I'd do is break the monotony by talking about something non-related to school, or point out some humourous observation about the prof. I personally wouldn't get into the whole major bit as it's such a boring and common thread. If she likes you, however, a grunt would be enough to start a conversation.

Papichulo pretty much nailed it. I had a 100% success rate (in terms of getting a girl interested in talking to me) by making fun of the prof. Let's face it, most profs are weird as hell one way or another and they are all extremely easy to make fun of. This gives you the perfect opportunity to start a conversation about the class in a funny sort of way. Just don't try too hard or you'll come off as vicious (for example, don't mention anything about the prof's weight, ethnicity, etc).

I've got this one girl in my class (real warped sense of humour that horns me out a bit) and we abuse this prof. We email each other at least a few times a day regarding this bozo instructor sending altered photos, disgusting ideas etc.. It can turn into a great segway to something sexual real quick if you play it just right. I can make her laugh on cue during lecture with the slightest weird look on my face after the prof says something that can be construed as sexual. One time we joked he doesn't have a penis as he's able to sit and lecture in a seated yoga position so the following class I bring a banana, ate half of it (so it basically looks like a yellow dick) and flop it around as he's talking (girl could hardly contain herself). Be random, point shit out in the class you 2 can share as your little secret (that nobody else will know about). Be a bit crazy (comes off as a risk taker, and having a fun sense about you), but not way out there (or you'll seem like a nutjob, try-hard, and at worse obnoxious). Trust me, you can get crazy mileage out of this for the entire semester and get her wanting to hang with you cause she'll find you so amusing and entertaining.
