Post subject:  How long does it take to become 'good'?

Hi all, newbie member here. Been lurking for a few days and picked up some great info already so decided to join in!

My question is how long (or how many!) does it take to start becoming significantly better than an AFC?

Due to my lifestyle I will be looking to play the day game mostly so want to focus on this. Throughout my life I have had no real problems with talking to girls I just met and of course fancy, being naturally cocky/funny, getting some laughs, DHV and initial attraction going and (extremely rarely ha ha) getting a number.

Reading a lot of the advice on here about talking/texting etc and most of the early-on stuff I was doing naturally however I can now see where I was going wrong making myself into 'nice guy' or 'friend' and not creating a challenge so losing them pretty quickly.

I have never gone out purely to pick up girls, this is what I want to now do with the PUA knowledge I learn so was just wondering how many girls I need to stop in the street or how long it is likely to take before I rise above the average...

I know there is no hard/fast answer to this but any comments or thoughts appreciated. Cheers!

In my case, from being way-bellow-afc to being the most money in the club and being CONGRUENT with that, it took 3 years.

You can become amazing at this after one, one a half years. But to sort your inner game, boy, it takes time. This assumes taking care of other parts of your life as well. When you're happy with your job, family and friends, hobbies... it takes your game to a whole new level.

it depends on how hard you go if you use your holidays or leave from work and istead of relaxing at home you went out every day for 2weeks before pulling back to a more sustainable amount of game youll launch hard into it and make good progress vs just 1 outing whenever something comes up each fortnight.

Hey dude!

Your learning curve depends entirely on...you! Not how much you read or think about it, rather on how much you do it.

I got regular lays after 6 months, but it needs to be said that it was almost the only thing i was doing. I had 2 days of college to follow and home for the other 5 days. So i went out 5 nights a week with as sole purpose to pick up girls and practice my skills. The time home, from the moment i got up till i went out, i spend reading and reflecting on how i could possibly use it. Then i tried it.

i even remember writing catch phrases our witty comeback phrases on little papers that would fit in my wallet. Trying and failing and trying something else. Its not because it takes you 6 months that you are good, neither is it so that if it takes you 3 years that you are bad or better. What you become and how fast you become it, totally depends on you. You can have spoken to a million girls, but if you dont realize on the road that you should escalate, you are never going to get laid regulary.

cheers!

Thanks for the responses chaps, sounds much like learning anything else in life - you get out what you put in and it's quality and not quantity.

Will look up the inner game stuff, it's a new aspect that I didn't know about until this post.

I still think I need to get a bit more of the basics in my brain first before going out and trying it. Hope to get some more info locked in during the next few days or so and get out there next weekend!

Np amigo.

Perhaps one more piece of advice: dont try to study large parts at once to try it all at once. what i did was reading, pick out some things and do them asap. I learned them pretty well, but i never learned it by hearth. Hence the pieces of paper (which wasnt such a good idea after all. It is awkward to look in your wallet right before you drop a line :) ).

flow is important. So learn small steps at once, and do them, dont bother what comes after those, let flow lead you. Although you are at unknown territory, you do learn a great deal like that.

cheers!

I really appreciate your advice, this is very new and what you say makes real sense from the angle that I (hope) I am coming to this from.

I am sociable and I can talk to people and make them laugh fairly easily - all the new terms and methods I am reading about are things that I have felt or thought before but never really taken a truly objective look at the best ways in which to do them and how to link one into the other to get the girl!

Thanks for the advice about learning small steps at a time and doing them and not trying to focus too much on what comes next because I don't know how to do it properly yet, this makes good sense to me as... to do is to learn! And I am better off doing than reading :)

I am reading AFC Daniels journal at the moment and this is teaching me a lot about the inner game - after the other post above I now know what this is and how it also takes work but it is truly a good thing to do with or without PUA.

Thanks!

Its not the time, its the work you put in... The guy that goes out every day and sarges for 5 hours for 6 months will get results like the guy that goes out twice a week for 3 years.
