For most of my life, I have usually been a pretty funny person. As I've gotten older, it seems that being funny, or "goofy" isn't getting a girl for more than a laugh and general talking. Tonight, there was a party with a circle of my pals and girls too. There was a lot of laughing and smiling, but it just never seems to entirely pull a girl. I'm on the chunky side, and always seem to be known as a funny; goofy person. What exactly should I do, or what am I not doing, to pull in a girl?

How old are you? At 22, being the funny one works wonders for me. Good thing too, since my personality is fucking awful otherwise.

Your problem is actually quite simple:
1. Funny is cool, goofy is very uncool. Don't make yourself a clown.
2. Funny is cool but it's not sexual.
3. Funny is cool but it will not make you 'connect' on a 'deeper level' with a girl.
Work on those skills.

And yeah, go on a diet.

I've actually been losing weight, but still bigger/chunky. If I lose the weight, will other things fall into place, or the missing puzzle piece will be complete.

I lost over 100 lbs. Guess what - that's not all there is to this. It's just the first step.

Of course, it really does make it a lot easier to get IOIs from beginning, rather than have to work for them more. But yeah, losing weight will build your confidence. How many other people do you know who have the straight up BALLS to drop 75-125 lbs?

Good point. I have a few friends who talk about wanting to lose 50lbs+ but yet they hangout with their gf on the couch and eat. I think losing 50+ would definitely get you more respect and giving you a big boost of confidence and helping your inner game.

It definitely helps.

But there are always going to be extremely fat guys who are just full of confidence. Guys like you and me, we rely(ied) on jokes to get the women around us to like us because we are/were ashamed of being fat - it's about our inner demons, not theirs.

I found out recently that I actually had a chance with a lot of girls I never thought I had a chance with, and learned they didn't go for me because I wasn't confident, not because I was fat. Fat guys who don't give a shit that they are fat don't really need that defense mechanism.

Yeah, dude: good point. I feel like it holds me back from everything. I don't like smiling all the way, because I feel like it makes my face seem huge.

To me, I think looks matter. If they didn't, I don't think "Health & Fitness" would be a topic on this forum. We talk about a lot of girls who are 8's, 9's, and 10's and most of them are thin. I don't think a loy of us are chasing BBW's. I don't think the girls want to be chased by Fat Albert either.

It goes both ways, right?

If you lose weight, you won't be funny any more :( scientifically proven.

But then again, who gets laid more, rockstars or comedians?

False. I think I've gotten funnier. The only thing I've lost is the ability to make fat jokes.
