I met a girl who is 18 and still a senior in high school. I'm 22 and a graduate student. She's pretty damn good looking and has a great personality, but I have had bad experiences in the past with dating girls even 1-2 years younger than me. We're clearly in two very different areas in life, as I'll be getting a full-time job after grad school in a year while she'll still be trying to figure her life out. From your personal experience, do you feel like this is a dangerous age gap, or should I just run with it and see what happens?

younger girls are definitely easier.. Is it easier to beat a 10 year old or a 20 year old at a sport?

And there is no way to tell, but a girl "still in highschool" is far from the maturity level you would need for a serious relationship.. I say you just take it for what it is, some sex and keep it moving.

Sorry fuze,

what you say is bullshit. except then for the beating a 10 yo in sports.

Age is not a issue, its the personality of the person. Some girls at 18 are mature, others arent. My first relationship was when i was 19 and my gf was 15. She was mature enough at that time, we had a 5 year long relationship.

It depends from person to person. So she is in high school, who gives a shit. You will get your full time job, which means ... what? nothing. If you think she has a great personality, that she would be fitting, then go for it.

Only time will tell if it was a good decision or not. But saying that because she is 18, she aint LTR material, that is plain bullshit.

good luck!

I'm sort of in the same situation as you amigo. I'm 21 dating a 17 year old. She's VERY mature for her age though and I'm not in it for just the sex or anything. We were friends with benefits before I decided to make her my g/f and things couldn't be better at the moment. We have something really special between us. Technically we've been only been dating for a month and a half but theoretically it's been like 5 months. I also understand what you mean when you say you're in two different areas in life. My g/f is about to graduate H.S in June and I'm working on my Bachelor's. It's also been addressed that she will be going away for College, not out of state, but a good couple of hours away that would ultimately make our relationship a LDR. That all depends if everything goes well and we're still together from now until she graduates H.S and goes away to college. Anyways, if it feels right and you really like her and you feel you have something special going on, then just run with it and see what happens. Good luck to you both!!! :D

Idk man, it seems easier to lay a woman who is double your age then just a few years younger....some of them have that conquest mentality (at least 4 ive met I had to use zero game on to get interested, when i was age 18 to 23 currently) where they come at you harder then you come at them...problem is they have baggage, kids, and disease! lol

Age is just a number, if you're both comfortable and don't make much out of it, then you should be fine.

I dont understand why you would say such a thing. Its like i said, maturity is not age dependant, as you point out so well with your quite disgusting comment. You are missing the point. I never said anything on how our relationship was, nor do you know the details about it. You dont know how we met. You dont know anything about it, except for the fact that it was a very good relationship which lasted for 5 years, dispite the age difference.

And that is the point.

cheers

Age is just a number (to use an epic cliché).
Like some said before, i agree with it, that it depends on both persons.
Since you are telling that you have more often problems with girls who are 1-2 years younger, there is a chance that you are acting quite old for your age.

In this situation however I can understand that you might have problems since you are in different phases of your life, which may make it more difficult to level. I had some problems with being in a different phase of my life with my ex, she was 28 when I was 18, she was already working for years and I still had to start university..
