Hey guys. So long story short. I've been seeing a women that is 4 years older than me. Sure that doesn't sound like much but in terms of success..she is way ahead of me. I'am 21 and she's 25. I know it's really not that bad but seeing as I'am just a normal college kid right now it is somewhat intimidating that she has her carrer already on the go and everything. While I'am just some dude going to college, doing the typical college kid stuff. any suggestions on how to keep things going? |

Secret: People arent interested in how far you have come, they are interested in how far you are going to go. She is 25, that is still young. Most 25 year old people I know are still boys and girls, not men and women. Sure some people have a problem with their partner being younger and less successful but hey, then it isnt gonna work out anyway right. Sometimes the girl just isnt right for you and that is as good a reason as any to go for the next. Still you are in collage, that is cool, you have the possibility to become someone. In the future, people dont judge you for not being there yet but rather if you have had the chance and blew it. |

Ahh, Thank you for that. I love how that one simple sentence just made everything click for me. Potential > current status! I guess it's something that I really shouldn't be worrying about. She looks as if she is ok with it, so why worry. =) |

im dissapointed in this thread .. im dissapointed in you guys .. im dissapointed in this whole forum.. finally a post '' older woman'' .. i click on it and there is nothing here ... 25 YEARS .. do you call that old ? .. i had something like 48 years old in mind... at least.. that is what i expected.. |

Look, it's about "accepting" the situation. You need to not let it affect you that you're seeing an older, smart, successful woman while you're a relative nobody. Ezo made a very good point about what you can be, and not what you are. But, in the present, you need to realize that she's with you because she likes you the way you are now. Now, it could be some inner trait, some quality that you possess that she hasn't found around her. You need to harness that quality instead of worrying about her social and economic standing. The more you think of her being "above" you, the more complicated this whole thing is going to look in your head. The best relationships are all about equality. Always be an equal to her and she will love and respect you for it. And things will be fine. Regards, Luke |

Show them an exciting time and be full of energy but also show that you are able to adapt and be mature with your high energy levels and show you can mix just as easily with her friends but with that edge of youth. Find out what she likes but adapt it or give it a slight youthfull twist but dont make her feel old she wont like it. You must praise her quite often to keep her feel good. |
