Im not a big texter and generally rather phone up the girl but there are some instances where a text is deemed appropriate - such as the same night you had a "date". After parting with the girl I generally send a text just to ask whether she got home ok (I figured its a mans job to check that she got home safely). Is that a good thing? For example last friday I texted "let me know when you get home safely" and got a response saying "im home now - it was nice seeing you tonight" What other texts are there to kind of finish off a date or a meet up etc. |

this isn't rocket science talk about something that happened during the dateAfter parting with the girl I generally send a text just to ask whether she got home ok (I figured its a mans job to check that she got home safely). For example last friday I texted "let me know when you get home safely" and got a response saying "im home now - it was nice seeing you tonight" What other texts are there to kind of finish off a date or a meet up etc. i don't like texting much but most of the texts i send are just rhetorical statements that don't even need responses |

I know its not rocket science but was curious. I dont send questions I do generally send statements. But obviously she needs to tell me when she gets home safely (she doesnt live in the safest part of London and youre talking about midnight - bad combo) |

I do that too. Keep it short. Never had a bad response. If not in person, Always call to set the next date. In person is better than phone, phone is better than text. |

Other than making sure she got home safely, I don't see the purpose of texting after a date. If you're more entertaining over text than in person, then that will pose a serious issue. So try not to put yourself in that position cause it's very easy to be assertive over text. Not as easy to be assertive in person. |

I hardly ever text right after, or thes ame night, I don't want to be like Mikey from Swingers, haha. (If you haven't seen the movie, WATCH IT!) I usually text the next day, to tell her I had a nice time and we should do it again soon. I haven't had the best luck with that recently. Although I think if she's into you, she'll be glad to get that text, if not, well then you probably won't get a reply and it won't matter either way. Or in my case the last few times, "Thanks, I had fun too", and then no further responses. I'm gonna stop sending that text actually, I think I need to come up with soemthing better for the day after. |
