I've had a look to see if this is already a topic, but couldn't find it anywhere. Ok, so there's this girl I've known for a good 5 years or so, and she's gone out with one or two of my mates over the years, but has been single for at least 5 months. She's come to my house a few times and I've introduced her to my family (who thought we were going out), but I can't seem to get anywhere with her... I'm not sure if it's just me breaking down and wussing out, or if she's not interested. Now, I'm not really looking for a relationship, but I'm pretty certain she isn't either, I just want to fool around etc. The main problem is, she's at a military boarding college now, and I've gone off to university over two hundred miles away. So what I guess I'm asking is how can I get her to expect and anticipate something happening when we meet over Christmas, and when we meet up, how can I get over my personal barriers of making the move? Hey Gatling, You're in the 5 year friend zone and aren't changing that in a text or a call. Overcoming your fears is just something you have to do if you wanna find out how she feels. Christmas break plan some time for just the two of you, flirt/escalate, and make your move. I live by "Better to act then apologize, than ask for permission." |

I agree with sharp. I've heard a lot of people say, women won't forgive you if you don't be a man and escalate, but they will forgive you if you do, even if they're going to reject you first. |

Your best shot at getting her to anticipate something happening between you two is to call her up on the telephone and sexualise the conversations you are having with her. It is very hard to make e-mails and text messages sexy because there is so much room for interpretation and most of the time the message they receive is nothing like the message you were trying to send.
