| Post subject: | Women's reaction to clothing |
Whenever I got out with friends to a bar/club I like to dress classy/stylish (ie: sweater, tie, collared shirt w/ slacks or blazer, collared, shirt w/ jeans, etc) and I get compliments all the time from both sexes. When a woman complements it's an instant opener that segues into conversation. But at times I get the sense that some women are turned-offed by it. What are some thoughts on how women react to a man that dresses well? Do you think it can intimidate women if a man dresses classy? |

I haven't really thought about it, but i honestly, i wouldn't think so, if you're intimidating them in some way, they must have problems themselves. |

To be honest, I spend a lot of money on clothing and like to dress well though I'm more contemporary/sport/casual styled. I get compliments all the time and women are definitely NOT turned off by it. But here's the thing, what does your wardrobe say? Does it say, I'm conservative, closed, uptight? Or do your clothes say that you are a sexual being and you use your clothes to emphasize your sexuality? I can't remember the exact literature but I remember reading something once that described men that when other men saw them or even women in relationships saw them, there is an uncomfortable feeling their dress and sexuality give off that actually makes their competition and the women that are not allowed to have them (because of a relationship) fell physically uncomfortable. A borderline disgust. Well, that borderline disgust in a way a man dresses or exhibits his sexuality is a huge turn on to single women. Think of a euro trash guy with long flowing hair who's every move exudes sexuality. Well, it's that type of wardrobe and body language that you actually do want to model if you want women to see you as a sexual being rather than dressing like a Harvard professor with style. With that idea, I started wearing my shirt with one button less done. A little more chest, tighter pants, a big stylish belt.. etc. And I've heard my guy friends suggest that they think it's sometimes cheesy (that's the instinctual reflex to dislike someone who dresses sexual) but it nets me AMAZING results with hot, young women who want to get busy. In conclusion, it's not important to just dress well if you are trying to pick up women, it's important to dress sexual, open, dangerous.... Don't be a douche bag, there is a fine line... But try to find it. |

Absolutely great thoughts Lone Wolf! I fully agree with your assessment. Next time I head out I'll dress down and a bit more sexual. That'll allow me to show off my crafted necklaces which is a bit of peacocking for me. |

@Lone Wolf: Sure enough your suggestions have improved the way I carry myself with women. Just letting that second shirt button open and showing some chest has helped gain much more positive responses from women. That along with a fedora works wonders. Thanks! |

Eh...I have gotten complements on little things too when it comes to style, but my gay friends were nice enough to warn me that the fedora has entered the realm of tacky |
