So I have been hitting it of with a girl, who I met a year ago - thought she was really hot and fun at the time. I was really happy about it. It started by me messaging her online, so I didn´t know how she looked at this time. We texted alot, but then I found out by our mutual friend that HB has been anorectic for around two to three months. I have very little experience with anorectic girls and in fear; I have been acting coldish to her over text, and blew off our date - she is still interested though. What are some of your experiences with this kind of decease? Should I just blow it off completely and perhaps rekindle the flame in a couple of months, if she gets better? Any advice and opinions are appreciated as I have no experiences in this kind of situation /sweden |

Just play it normal, it's her problem, not yours, if you're interested in her, be hot towards her, why would you want to keep being cold? Let her deal with her problems, just play everything like she's a normal person. |

Bad experiences with other mental deceases plus I don´t want to hurt her, as we have a lot of mutual friends if it turns out I can´t cope with her illness. Otherwise great advise, thanks. Would defiantly have followed it if we didn´t go to the same school,

Okay, but have you asked yourself how those bad experiences came about? If you give them expectations of yourself, you could have a bad experience because they're relying on you, if you detach yourself from their problem, then there's not alot that can go wrong. How would you hurt her, you're just going to hit on her and see if she's interested, again, be honest, tell her you intentions, whatever they may be, and there's not really anyway you can hurt her. mentally at least. |

Anorexia is some hard shit to deal with. I don't know any anorexic people, but one of my friends used to be bulimic. She sought help and is ok now, but she explained to me that those kind of eating disorders have the same underlying mental problems as in a person that is cutting her self. So, you have to decide if this is something you want to deal with. First you need to find out is she denying the problem or actually seeking help, what's her mental state and just be ready to deal with it if you decide to take her on. I agree to an extent that it's her problem and not yours, but in practice it will influence your interactions and your relationship, it just will. So think twice before engaging. My two cents. |

i'm going to diverge a little bit from the conversation here. and say this: if i found out some girl was anorexic, i would treat her as if i was dealing with someone who was intent on killing herself (as in suicide). i would probably excuse myself from the relationship if we had just met (i've got enough on my plate) and tell her straight out: "you need help. here is where you get it. i am concerned for you. go get well. god bless and good luck." |

Well I know she both wants to get help and is getting it. Well I´m in no rush, I´l just think things over or something. She strikes me as someone who likes slow game, anyway |
