I disagree with texting her twice a day...in fact...reduce that number to ZERO.
Never text girls first unless you are making plans with her. It's my rule, and you don't have to follow it, but I find it is too easy to come across the wrong way when you don't have the assistance of tone and body language.
If you're going to take a class with her, then make sure you are always having fun in that class with or without her. If you focus on trying to make her attracted to you, you're just going to fail miserably.
Be confident. Be assertive. You are the coolest motherfucker out there and you can get whatever woman you want. Give her a chance to give you a chance by being all that is DonBullshine!

I do, however, agree with the "coffee date." It's innocent, public and safe. A cafe is a great place to just chat and get to know one another. Make sure you have an idea (sort of) for a few other activities you can bring her along for after coffee.
Location changes give the false feeling of spending more time with you!
My ideal "date" isn't a date at all...here's an example:
-Get coffee and chat it up for awhile
-Ask her if she'd like to go for a walk downtown or wherever
-Suddenly I remember I forgot to get my niece a present for her birthday (or Christmas is coming up, too), but there's a problem. I don't know what to get her! Guess who might have a better idea what my niece would like? A female. Guess who's with me? A-ha!
Now when her girlfriends ask, "What did you guys do together?" it'll be a whole slew of things rather than, "Well, we went to coffee and talked...it was nice I guess..."
See where I'm going with this? You may have only spent a total of 45 minutes to an hour with her, but she perceives it as more simply because you've done more together. The comfort level rises so much more quickly when you operate like that, and I guarantee that other guys are only going to take her to dinner.
