| Post subject: | I'm depressed. Please help. |
I've sought professional help before and am going to again, but I would like advice on this forum as well. I went out a lot last summer and had a decent amount of success. At the end of the summer I had a rotation of four hot girls that I was sleeping with but I wasn't crazy about their personalities. Even though they were hot, dating them felt like work and it was unfulfilling. Going to clubs felt like work too. I dropped all four girls and stopped going out. I'm in my early 30s and I'm realizing that I don't want this pua lifestyle. I want to find one awesome girl that I have amazing chemistry with. I want to get married and start a family, and I want to do this in my hometown which is on the other side of the country. Problem is, I can't move back home for at least a year because of work. Until then, I want to enjoy my life. It's only one year. I should be able to go out and have fun and do things now. But I can't seem to be able to. I'm an introvert. I've always been a low-energy person that needs a lot of sleep (9 hours). I've never really had a lust for life, even in good times. I often feel depressed and don't feel like doing anything. I'll get passionate about a new interest for awhile but then lose interest in it. This is my disposition. It's the way I naturally am and have always been; only it's been much worse lately. I tend to let my negative emotions control me. It's a constant battle to overcome them. How can I overcome these negative emotions and be in a positive state more consistently? |

well first and foremost, stay strong, keep your head up, and start telling yourself things will pick up...Theres gotta be things you enjoy and look forward to. At my lowest point(s), when all the positive seems to fly out the window, I still manage to find those "things you stay alive for"..whether it be a hobby, a person(s), the beach sunset, whatever...Focus on the good things that you have surrounding you, and eventually, at least I believe, that good/positive things will naturally attract to you more and more. And the good thing about the PUA Lifestyle....is the things you learn. Just because one is a PUA, doesn't mean they have to be one the rest of their lives. You can take the skills you've learned, and apply them to any female out there, and find one you're compatible with......I'm confident that you'll find that one special lady. It takes longer for some people than others...but the time will come man..keep your head up You said you were going back to seek professional help, so continue to do that, and focus on the positives and the good things in life..stay strong dude..whenever a negative thought pops up, focus on a positive one. Good luck. |

this issue is unrelated to being a PUA and being a successful PUA will not make you happy, you already probably realize this. Sounds like you need to get motivated about something you love, and maybe find a new job. You may also look into prescription anti-depressants if needed. A woman isn't going to solve your issues in any case. good luck |

sounds like you're bi polar. dude you need a hobby, you need purpose. the reason you're not building chemistry with women is because you're dating immature young girls. find someone smart and independent near your age that wants the same thing, a family. two things guaranteed to lift your spirits is exercise or go back to school part time and study something you really truly enjoy, if you dont feel like these options are for you, ask yourself, "what if?" what if you did get your lazy ass to the gym and committed, how would you feel in the long run. what if you did go back to school and accomplished something. go travel the world or something bro, and stop dating dumb sluts, club will only be fun for so long. meaningless sex and partying will lead you no where but emptiness. something else that might help is competition, find something and compete. that will motivated you |

I used to suffer from depression too. Even now, because it's that time of year, and I work as a bartender/dj I, so I don't see much sunlight, I'm starting to feel bits and pieces of it. They tried to put me on medication, but that didn't work. Depression has affected every area of my life, and it wasn't until about 6 months ago that I got it figured out. One thing that everybody should do is take an Omega-3 (fish oil) supplement. If you are depressed, even more-so. Our brain is something like 60% fat, and one of the main fats in our brain is DHA (one of the fats in fish oil). There's a bunch of other science behind it too, worth a search on google. The big thing is that our ancestor didn't get depressed. Modern hunter-gatherer societies don't get depression either. It's because of a bunch of things, but the thing they have that we don't is a balance of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fats. Studies have also shown that a fish oil supplement can perform as well if not better than depression medication, without the nasty side-effects. If you use it to treat your depression, start with double the recommended dose. After two weeks you should be feeling better. Another thing that has helped me is implementing a workout program. I run, so that's what I do, but I've experimented with lifting and gotten good results with that as well. A nice side effect is how much the ladies appreciate it when you look good. The last thing that has helped me is getting more sunlight. When you get sunlight, you increase the amount of Vitamin D in your system. D3 is the new miracle "drug," and it's been proven to help with all sorts of diseases. Either get around 30 minutes of sunlight a day, go tanning (which is what i do, every other day), or take a D3 supplement. The new research on sunlight and skin cancer shows that by getting the right amount of sunlight you actually decrease your risk of skin cancer. Just don't be going out and getting fried. I hope this helps. I know how bad depression is, and I know how it can affect not just your game, but your whole life. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. One book that helped me a ton is "The Depression Cure" by Stephen Ilardi. |
