I try to talk to one new person every day during college, sometimes we get to name exchange sometimes we don't. Some of them invite me to parties or to come sit with them during college to meet their friends. In your case make it 2 a day

Remember everyone's name you meet, that's 2 a day, and greet them everytime you see them: Hey [Name]
After a month you know over 50 people, other people won't know how well you know them. And most people you greet are just happy someone is saying their name as well. Win-Win situation.
Hang out with some of the other cheerleaders, and accidentically leave shit at their places(not actually feces, just some old scarf, sweater or whatever) and have them return it, before practice. Hope she sees it and she will start to wonder;)
Also either get rid of your fear of being rejected because of the acnea or get rid of the acnea at all. I have no clue how to do either but I am fairly certain there are professionals who do : docters, people working in the drug store, dieticians .... one them has to have a way to get rid of your acnea for you?
Also work on your inner convidence, if you are the self help kind of guy, read some books....if not, do some martial arts.....nothing says confidence more than the inner voice thinking: Mister Amog, I can kick your ass royally, but I'm against violence, so I'm going to let you walk away:P
Treat yourself while working on all of this, get a new haircut, some fancy new clothes that fit
