I'm beginning to wonder if it's better to have a solid plan or just wing it when gaming a girl. Winging it without planning anything specific would reduce the needed for canned material and help me develop spontaneous conversational skills. I find that if I have a well thought out plan I tend to create unrealistic expectations in my head. For example there's this girl in my class that I was trying to game. I spent a great deal of time thinking of ways to be cocky and funny with her, how to kino her, and during class fantasized about dragging her into a deserted stairwell after class and making out with her (class gets boring =p). I did the cocky and funny, but for whatever reason was too intimated by her beauty to kino her and create attraction. This obviously set myself up for disappointment when things don't turn out "according to plan", and I started getting frustrated and acted needy, said/did stupid things, etc. In fact she actually thinks I'm an asshole now. I don't think I should bother with her anytime for at least a week or two. In fact my best shot with her is probably to game the other hot girl in that class and make her jealous. But I killed most if not all of the initial attraction by being overly cocky, so she probably wouldn't even care. And that shit got me feeling down for quite a while. It's not even one-itis (well maybe a little bit lol). It's the fact that I feel like a failure for fucking it up after investing all that time into planning out how to game her. Anyways obviously the argument against winging it is that you're more likely to run out of things to say, not be prepared for certain shit tests, etc. But when you don't invest time and energy into planning things out you're less likely to feel bad about failing. I guess the optimal strategy is between the two extremes. What do you guys think? |

I agree, the best game utilizes some of both elements. Unless one is a complete natural (and I'd doubt they'd be here if they were), then some conscious planning is going to be required at different points in the pick-up. At the same time, however, things never go the way you picture them going, so good improv game skills are also essential. These are built with experience. |
